Re: Funny "TLC needed" boat ads on Craigslist.
Here is one. It is not really a TLC add, but sometimes I wonder how much effort people put into writing "novels". I also love the "Smurf Blue Runabout":

Here is the full add:

My old man would like to sell his old runabout.
I painted it smurf blue when I was six.
I can't remember how much horse power the outboard motor has, but if it's not enough for you we have a few motors lying around the garage.
My dad filled the hull with spray foam so that it would float like an aquasport even if it capsized or was cut in half.
Then he bought an aquasport because he wanted a small cabin cruiser for his retirement.
Personally, I would like to keep it and drive it myself, but he's intent on selling it. He says it's too choppy on the water - but that "a young kid could use it on a river, for example, to skip across to the convenience store and back - it would be perfect for that". Keep in a mind, a young kid is probably anyone under 35 to him so don't hesitate to write even if you no longer consider yourself young.
Oh yah. A fishfinder (works!) and royal blue trailer (perfect!) is included.
Also, it's right across the street from a river, and just down the street from a bunch of marinas. I could help you get sorted out with a slip if you needed that kind of assistance.
Umm, what else? The running lights work (I mean, the boat is really in perfect condition for what it is), and there are enough seats for four people - that's including the captain.
I might convince him to throw in some free lifejackets too. Heck, there's no one to fit the child sized ones anymore and they're pretty much brand new.
Please email me at the link above to arrange a look or a springtime seatrial.
(I'm placing this ad now cause it's part of what he requested for xmas, see item "help emptying out the garage" - seriously.)
That's ONE-THOUSAND-DOLLARS for an entire boating kit, as soon as the ice comes off the lake.
[I've had a request for pictures, I do not have current pictures available at the moment, but will post them when they become available. These ones are from 20 years ago. That's my old man at the bow, and then that's me sitting on the right in the other photo. The boat still looks pretty much the same except we swapped the bucket seats for the foam reclining kind. I found a picture of the type of seat too. Enjoy!]
