But regardless, that engine shouldn't have ever been installed in that style boat. Maybe he got the valve covers off one? But I HIGHLY doubt that's what the engine actually is. A 454 MAG with an Alpha drive seems more likely!

I agree, wrong style of boat for a performance engine
But... Funny things happen with 24 year old boats.

Could be a simple "it fits it so use it" valve cover swap. Or the person with this barge may have swapped the engine in out of a deep V, following the same "it fits it, so use it" philosophy.

Hard to see the drive, but could be an early Bravo.
