Re: Funny "TLC needed" boat ads on Craigslist.

Why do people feel compelled to tell you in their ad how much they "could" get if they "parted it out?" They're (a) lying, (b) too lazy to actually do it, and (c) driving away any potential reasonable offers. This is similar to the "I'd rather just have it sit than sell it for less than my firm price." This may not even be a bad deal (I have no idea), but I'm really turned off by the defensive tone before you even contact the person. 150hp Johnson outboard motor $800 or BO

Of course, CL occasionally has some actual gems, like this one: Large Cheap Aluminum Lake Boat

yep. then get to wrenching then. cause if its old and broke it aint worth $800 lol.

bob

thats a sad tale there. think ide bought some ins when the storm was in cuba.

and to the one with the SOLID floor. what a joke. be much more convincing had he not shown the wet rotted floor. looks like an old 5 gallon bucket with a seat in it. the nets i might offer a $10 bill on. the boat. free is to much.

I would love to hear the seller explain this offering more thoroughly...

Trying to validate the asking price...well that may require a psychologist!

A titled trailer - I see the trailer. A titled boat - What boat? Two pontoons bolted to what looks like old fuel oil tanks isn't a boat in my book.

For $2000 those tanks better be full of about $1900 worth of diesel fuel.

is what a meth lab's leftovers would look like if you added pontoons

You are all overlooking the nice ladder rack and large live wells.

Possibly, the worst thing is that I really suspect that the pontoons were an after thought.... I BET that this brilliant plan was hatched with two fuel oil tanks and a ladder rack.... possibly just a LITTLE tippy LOL

I think the word you meant to use was "tipsy". I'm sure more than a few cases of beer inspired this beauty.

If anyone buys it I also have about 6 bags of household garbage I'll sell ya for only $750 a bag... I know it's worth more what with the rotten pizza and cat litter but I'm in the mood to make a deal!

Ad: basically just a good Hull to build on, you need to have compatible Trailer to pick it up. I can help with loading it on your trailer.
I take reasonable offers, and willing to trad / swap for, Motorcycle, Jet ski, four wheeler, or other thinks. My name is TED

No expense was spared in the making of the those boat jack stands. Is Ted yelling at me or is he speaking of himself as an egomaniacal 3rd person: TED ???

Johnson 200hp Propeller
"Johnson 200hp Propeller - $100
selling Johnson Propeller for a 200hp .. for 100.... stain steal... "

So if I put this prop on my 100hp motor I can double the HP? That really is a "steal".

Nothing really wrong with this ad, I just like the seller's modesty "Runs well for what it is"

Johnson 1.2 hp
