So he's quoting NADA prices for the car and boat, but the car needs a transmission and the boat needs a motor. I think the seller needs a reality check.

Maybe he was towing the boat with the Corvette and blew the transmission?

"Investors wanted" Investing in what? A junker vette and a "state of the art" boat. Most state of the art boats have propulsion.

Upon further review, he;s looking for a sucker.

Check out this genius. http://louisville.craigslist.org/boa/2757584241.html

"I have title/reg/hull#s/vin plate from fiberglass boat I used for parts the hull was donated to knob creek If you are restoring an old boat this is the easy way to get paperwork."

To make it even better, I sent him an email politely telling him what he was doing was a felony and suggest he check for himself.... I can't post his response here because it was quite nasty and vulgar but it's really a shame because the response was funnier to me than the add.

This guy is really playing with fire. He must be extremely dumb to even consider posting something like that right out in the open where anyone can see and respond to it - even people connected with law enforcement.

Several years ago I bought a '50s model Jeep for parts. When I had everything off of it that I wanted, I signaled my willingness to sell the body and frame on one of the automotive forums. I even had title and current registration to go with the remains. I made it clear that it was sold "as is" and that buyer would have to pick it up at my house.

I got an e-mail from some guy five or six states away who was willing to pay me a considerable sum of money to remove the VIN plate from the firewall and mail it to him along with signed title. I could then do as I wished with the vehicle.

I thought about his proposal briefly (very briefly) and then let him know that he could come to my house, pay for the vehicle, remove it from the premises and do anything he wanted to after that. Otherwise, no deal!

I never heard back from him.

I could just imagine some federal or state law man marching up to my door with that VIN plate in his hand, saying "you been had, boy. This was a sting operation. turn around and put your hands behind your back".

I love these. "I don't really know what it is but I do somehow know that I want $600 for it" :p
