Re: Funny "TLC needed" boat ads on Craigslist.
Here's one that might need some tlc. What gets me is the precision of the descriptions. Not a bad price, and it appears the seller is trying to be VERY up-front with the sale. Sounds like seller is more of a lawyer than a boat person. No photos were attached, more the pity.

The Boat was made by Winner Boats, Tennessee in 1972. Constructed of Marine Plywood and Fiberglass. I do not consider the boat to be currently seaworthy and it does require maintenance work before it can be put back into the water.
The Mercury Outboard Motor is rated at 85 HP (850 Series) and manufactured in 1973. The motor suffered a water pump impeller failure the last time it was put into the lake in the summer of 2010. It was running at idle speed at dockside when it was purposely shut down because of the lack of the tell-tale water stream. The Boat and Motor were removed from the water and returned to storage. The motor requires an unknown amount of maintenance before its capability will be known. It is not currently usable.
The Trailer was built in 1978 by Calkins (model BC-16-2100). It is usable and can transport the boat and motor at moderate speeds on the highway or city streets. The trailer will need new tires and the wheel bearing re-lubricated or replaced before the trailer could be considered usable on a daily basis. The trailer has no structural damage.
All three items (Boat, Motor and Trailer) are sold as one item and will not be sold separately. There is NO Warranty of any kind on any of the items and all items are sold "As is, where is." CASH only. MAKE ME AN OFFER
