What is the 5th-wheel tailgate for? Is that a fold-down swim platform or a rear bench seat?

It's a people-catcher! He had problems with passengers being thrown out the stern upon acceleration.

True, but today there are certain Coast Guard requirements for an engine to operate in a marine environment. If your boat catches fire and people get hurt the coast guard will be all over you for using a non-marine engine. This guy took a shortcut to get the boat operational. Who knows what other shortcuts he took?

What are the CG requirements for a marine engine short block that differ from an automotive short block? If I pulled a 350 from my Chevy, stripped it down, and added the marine parts to configure it to my boat, wouldn't that work?

I know we are getting off thread here.

1stgenbird,

Re: Craig's List TLC and similar sellers

We assume they frankenstein things, screw them up and then tell you it only needs a weekend's work from someone handy (TLC).

So, you look at the add figuring the guy has F150 transmission hanging in the water with a prop hanging off a U joint.

Short blocks and long blocks are the same.. Core plugs and head gaskets are different to handle the raw water...

Look it up if you really want to know. He used an auto engine because it was cheaper. He did little as possible to make it work enough so he can sell it and get good money from a sucker. That boat is going to have nothing but problems once corrosion starts.

But it ran fine the last time he had it out. :)

Well I think this is where Richard Hamon went wrong in the Amphibouse car challenge on Top Gear.

I'm looking to trade my pet monkey for a late model jet ski. This monkey is about 30" tall and weighs about 40 lbs, is housebroken and trained to do household chores; he sweeps, mops, dusts the furniture and can load the dishwasher and best of all, he works for peanuts. He gets along well with small children and other pets with the exception of geese; let him see a goose, and he looses his mind. He enjoys watching television when he's not doing housework and particularly likes "Gilligan's Island", "The Love Boat" and Drew Carey on the "Price is Right". Not sure of what kind of monkey he is, but he is extremely hairy, has a long tail and makes funny noises when he's angry.

Will trade for single seat jet ski and trailer in running condition with current tags and registration.

Thanks"

Only in Austin:facepalm:

This one has it all. And when I say "all", I mean all the classic stuff.

It's a tri-haul.
It's a speed boat with 65 H.P. (Stand back when she starts up!)

Wait, there's more! Bikini top? Check! Trailer has a new axel. Why use an axle, when you can put one of them new-fangled axels on?

Says it comes with a "Bikini Top" lmao!!!
