That would be a really good candidate for seacast. That however would most likely blow your budget.

Arch, I looked into Seacast thatwas an option for me here in Australia and to get it sent over i needed 15 gallons for my transom it equaled somewhere around $1300, Coosa Board is only $650 and is also available to me, i tried to get that other brand of pourable transom liquid i cannot think of the name now but its on the American Ebay but the seller said no international sales

Transom has mostly been cleaned and sanded big job lots and lots of fine fibreglass shards going up under the wrap around safety glasses man that stuff had me in tears anyhow she all done 98% ready for the new transom

today i cut out the transom template i am going with the black coreflute design as pictured it raises my transom to around 30-37 inches no water coming over that out in the ocean

i am going to be running a outboard pod or bracket as you guys call them, i am in Australia we often have a different terminology to you guys for the same principle

my original transom was 1" thick i am thinking of doubling this or even going thicker 2 1/4" for better bracing for the outboard bracket

next thing to do is pick up the transom plywood it will likely be 3 sheets/layers of 3/4" than cut it out and glass it in to place, i only have 6.5 meters of double bias so i need to wait to get some more glass cloth

Wow! Kickin' butt & takin' names as we say in these parts. You're making great progress.

so your plan is to hang the outboard off of a bracket/pod, which would move the center of gravity aft. And you've eliminated the cabin and are replacing it with a presumeably much smaller center console which would further move the center of gravity aft. Is this a problem? I don't know but my amature engineer spidey sense is tingling.

In any case, good luck! And keep at it! These guys will keep you on the straight & narrow!

Cheers....................Todd

Hey Todd, Yup the cabin has gone, there will be a decent size centre consol with possibly a custom 2" alloy tubing T top canopy and yeah i will be adding a pod/outboard bracket on the transom which i am hopping will give enough ass end buoyancy and possibly act like a trim tab or hydrofoil and actually lift the boat up from the rear

here is a picture of a basic quick drawing of a pod design i like but i am unsure if i should follow the hull as even the smallest degree off and it could push the nose down and have horrible tendency's however a pod/outboard bracket will be going on it

Forgot to upload these pictures, 25 litres (5-6 gallon) epoxy resin, 25kg (about 50 pounds) industrial talc for gluing, some rollers and acetone, double bias cloth (you guys call it "Biaxle knitted or 1708 without the chopped strand mat) its sucky here in Australia we get what you guys in the USA have after 10-15 years so we are unable to get 1708 cloth and its hard to even find chopped strand mat for use with epoxy resin

Something seems off on your template. (the next to last photo) At the top it seems like the left side is much narrower than the right side.

DRS i should have explained when i took the picture i was not standing in the centre of the template i was standing to the right of the template so the top sides and cutout looks right out of place but its just an optical illusion lol if u look at the last picture where the template is on the transom it fits perfect on the bottom and sides of the hull

That makes sense. Looking only at pics can make things look distorted.

All good mate i should have taking better pictures i hope it doesn't cause confusion for future viewers

some more progress today, it makes u wonder why people drill so many holes in transom's its crazy, in these pictures i have drilled out countless wood plugs and drilled the holes over sized that is why all the holes are 3 sizes i used what drill bits i had in the shed

the section where the motor bolts on was cut out due to the two large cracks and a whole heap of bog, glue, filler was used to patch the repair by a previous owner

gave the transom a quick going over with the orbital sander with fine grade sand paper just to clean it up and remove the silicon that was all over the transom

Looks like a cool project, mind if I tag along? I'm interested to see how you go about the bracket/pod idea, I'm having trouble picturing it. Is the transom too high for the bottom of the drive and prop to clear.
