How about our flailing electric grid. It can barely handle it's present load. We need to make major improvements before we get too far into these electric vehicles.
Then there's the obvious.....we'll be using more fuel at the power plants, coal, natural gas, nuclear. They hate nuclear, so it's probably more coal and natural gas. Admittedly, there's still hydro-electric plants. Wind and solar are horrible. Maybe they will improve.
Some of these idiots think the electricity comes out of thin air. Just plug it in. They think they are carbon zero.
Then, what is the environmental impact in producing the batteries?
And disposing of the old ones?
What will be the cost to replace the batteries? Most manufacturers have 100,000 mile warranty. What if you drive over that mark? Are you willing to pay 10, 15, 20 grand for new batteries?
If not, are you going to trash a vehicle that's basically ok otherwise? Will the landfills be full of perfectly good vehicles with dead batteries?
