Do you think you will change after this Corona thing has been defeated?

Pneumonia makes it triply dangerous for you, MT. Have you had a pneumonia shot? Now they're saying seniors and others should get a second type, sort of a booster.

I have two doc appointments in a couple of weeks. I think they've been canceled or will be.

Take care, MT. Just in case I get a plow truck and have questions.

Crap, the hits just keep rolling on, after the last two weeks, I want to throw in the towel some days, have not been exposed to Covid, but I did end up with another case of pneumonia in my left lung! So I really need to be careful if I leave the house for supplies. If I were exposed, I would probably expire pretty quick!

Last time it flared up was right after my Dad passed away 5 years ago, so the passing of close family members and my left lung don't seem to mix very well.

:faint2:

MT you need to get that checked as in getting tested for the virus. How do you know you weren't exposed. Take care of yourself pal.

I saw today on the news in Canada there has been an increase in alcohol sales of 40% since this thing started.

Saw the same report on NBC. 45% in the States. I figured some is a spike like TP stock up. The rest is that 'an idle mind..." thing. I'm guessing a good outcome is far fewer OWI arrests. Good. Police have more important things to deal with now.

After this passes maybe home drinking will catch on like the home office. ...maybe not good if simultaneous.

It caught on a long time ago....

When I had a "job" I went to work every day am worked in my office. Drank ice tea in the office and also if I went out to lunch.

When I started my own business 60% of my work was done in my "home office", and 40% was done in my client's factories.

If I was working at home in the evening, on my computer, writing specifications or drawing blue prints, you could be sure there was a beer on my desk..

I guess I am lucky my job often involves drinking with clients.

Lots of things have changed. And all for the better.

The start of the change was probably in the 1990's, as I recall. Vendor's supplying free lunches continued, but beer at lunch was frowned upon. A cocktail with a dinner was still customary, but maybe only one, and after dinner "entertainment" (ugh, how should I put this - OK I won't.....LOL) was never more heard of.

You know, I have replied to this thread a number of times, and just sitting here now I got to thinking....

I was out today for the first time in a couple of weeks - had to have the state auto safety inspection this month. The shop had a newfangled machine and they sterilized the car before they took it in, and then again after they delivered it to me out front. I slipped my CC in the slot and it came back approved, but I got no paperwork. The manager said no problem if there ever was an issue its all on file.

It occurred to em that life is all different now. I guess it finally hit me.

So, to answer the OP question again.....

Yes, I AM going to change...
* more days boating no matter what gas costs - you can't take it with you.
* more times going to camp - and now i'll do more of the cooking myself and let the wife relax.
* more time taking the wife out to dinner.
* more times having a picinik at home with the family.
* more days in the pool, just doing nothing.
* more money sent to St Jude's hospital - besides I like their address sticker.
* more time spent enjoying the things i enjoy and being thankful for the ability to do them.

Ok Dear, now go wash my shirt and bring me a beer....

Thanks,

I have been checked and it is pneumonia, this is the 5th time I have had it in that lung since the early 90's it comes up every once in a while due to physical damage to the lung from a scuba diving incident when I was stationed in Hawaii. We had a tank fill air compressor with a leaking seal and I ended up with oil in my air tank and it was inhaled into that lung and kill part of the tissue, when that lung gets irritated it can trip the trigger and I end up with pneumonia that is treated with antibiotics.

No signs of Covid in the wife nor I and she is fine and has not been out of the house in a couple of months now.

Thanks again.

We took care of one of the isolation wings anti room entry door sets last night .. Now its up to the test and balance crew to get the air system making the whole wing negative pressure .. We have another crew working today building the " field hospital unit " out on the empty floor level at another hospital .. I think they said it was going to have 300 beds available ...
Hopefully it wont be needed ...

Weird times, Sam.

Plenty of medical professionals are recommending we wear masks when going out of our homes. Masks cannot be found! How about some DIY no-sew masks. A few ideas in the video below and most are simple to do if you don't have a sewing machine. Masks are not to protect the wearer, they to protect others from you in case you have C19 and don't know it.

Nope...I will not change...at least not very much. I will always offer a hand shake...if the other person chooses not to then I will understand...no offense taken. Most of us will be more careful I am sure. I have heard we should use alcohol over 60% to wash our hands.....is 101 considered an antibiotic...:very_drunk:

My teacher once took a glass of whisky and dropped a worm in it. Of course the worm died. When the teacher asked us what that meant, I said, "If you drink whisky, you'll never have worms"....

I don't know about everyone else, because we can't leave the house/yard presently, but I have washed my hands so many times every day now that my fingers have gotten thinner and shorter. When do you propose I should stop...

Not sure how much publicity it's getting in the States, but in Australia, all the major news agencies are staying away from this....

https://www.nationalgeographic.com/...-coronavirus-covid19-positive-test-bronx-zoo/

If it's true, and domestic and wild animals can get this thing, we have a MAJOR problem. Imagine someone is infected and self-isolating. They have a couple of cats, to which they pass the virus. As we all know, cats aren't isolating animals, so off they pop and start infecting other cats, who bring the virus straight back to their owners... You can see where this is going! But, it gets worse. At this point, it's unclear if a recovered Covid19 patient is now immune, or for how long that immunity lasts. All the other coronaviruses that we are normally exposed to don't create life-long antibodies. Antibodies are created, but are gone within 6 months to a year (which is why we keep getting colds). And to date, we have no vaccines for ANY of the coronaviruses...

If true, this is a very very bad turn...

Saw the story over here, too. The tiger got it from his keeper or did the tiger give it to the keeper?

We don't know if recovered folks have an immunity or not. The only way to know is purposely try to reinfect some. I wouldn't raise my hand to test that theory if I survived the first go around.
