sphelps & I are trying to figure out if there is something we should be sealing this with after the last coat(s) with wax. His deck (that he rolled) stains easily, as does another that I have done. Hoping some of the gel experts will give their 2 cents on this. You will find it does stain...looks A plus, super-duper though....I use the foam rollers too, but man you sure go thru them, huh? Oh....and one more thing....slow down...you're makin' the rest of us look lazy!!

Wow. Boat looks great. You have a mind for detail. I love it. I just have one question....When are you going to open your own fiberglass shop? Your work is outstanding, a natural.

Most Gelcoat Sealers are also Wax/Polishing Agents. Using them on the Deck would be counterproductive in that it would make the deck like an Ice Rink and you'd be SlipSliding Away!!!! Not sure what I'd use to seal it

I found a product at West Marine called Woody Wax...fiberglass & nonskid deck wax/sealer. Has pretty good reviews. Supposed to not make the deck slippery. I'll have to do some more research on this one...as per usual..expensive

I think I may have screwed up this white is really bright can not look at it in the sun. Can I add anything to it to tone it down or will it loose some of its brightness with time

Give it time. Also once you get the boat rigged and everything installed it'll look a LOT different. You have an Aircraft Carrier right now!!!! Take a DEEP BREATH!!! It'll be fine!!!:cheerful::bounce::nod::drama::thumb:

Fish blood, scales, slime, and beer/soda cans work here in Florida. Agree with woody...relax, this may be the last time it looks this good. Enjoy it. All the add-ons will break it up...keep moving forward!!!

Another option, that can be done later if you so desire, is to "Zolatone" it. Look it up!!!!;) This can also add a bit of texture to the deck surface. I can tell you how to do it "On the Cheap"!!!!:D

I filled all the holes on my console. My plan is to do a quick fair and a inexpensive paint job on the console so I can get it in the water then this winter I will take the console off and redo it. I know its probably not the smartest thing to do but season is flying by

Uhmm just roll a quick coat of Gelcoat on it. That leaves the option open to continue with gelcoat or sand and Paint.

Wog there is some crazing in the original gel that will probably take a while to repair correctly so I figured paint will be the easiest to remove come winter. Does this make any sense

Uhmmm Maybe. Since you're gunna be sanding her all the way down to the glass anyway I guess it really won't matter.
