Since it was a rainy day I figured I'd finish up all the wiring. Hooked up the new stereo and a 12vdc power port, admirals request. All 4 speakers installed. Anchor light wired and tested.

Adjusted my trim limit and trim position senders. I was one tooth off on the limit. Polished and installed the pedestal bases. Installed the Huminbird and fire extinguisher. Everything got a good cleaning.

Looks Great! You have the stereo on the Port side also. Mine is like that and I hate it because I have no control over the sound when I need to. I need to upgrade to a stereo that has a remote.

This one has a remote and is blue tooth, so I can operate the volume from my phone. Pretty decent radio.

Put gas in the fuel tank for the first time since this restoration began. I stopped at every 5 gallons to make note where the needle in the gauge is. I didn't want to fill it totally up with 31 gallons just in case something went awry. 23 gallons is enough for a days test.

Finished up the bow cushion and secured the bench seat cushions. There must be a significant amount of vacuum in the boat when I trailer, because in the past these cushions levitate, then fall on the deck. The first time I saw it in the rear view mirror I just about crapped. Hopefully I have that solved. I'll have a fair amount of vinyl to redo, but not this year.

I also replaced 5 broken snaps with new ones I ordered. I don't have a mooring cover for this boat, but broken snaps make my OCD alarm ring.

Since everything was new in the fuel system, (and empty), I decided to use a brake bleeder to pull fuel all the way through the filter/separator. This way my pump isn't working dry, and my starter isn't over worked. This worked like a charm. The second twist of the key this 4.3l came to life. She's much quieter with exhaust bellows.....prior to this restoration she had the exhaust tube. I guess we'll see how she acts.

I also built the dividers the isolate the engine from storage. These also serve as support for the sun deck. I didn't have time to paint them. That'll be another day.

Time to splash this thing.

Had a pretty decent day out on the river. The water was high, a little muddy, and colder than we'd like. The boat ran well, though made a little bit of noise in the outdrive, when in gear. Not all the time, but a little concerning non the less. We also had a little water coming in the rear somewhere. It doesn't appear to be coming in the drive shaft bellows, as they were dry and the water wasn't flinging. I didn't have any water in the bilge when running on muffs, so it's not in the sea water circuit. It wasn't a large amount of water, but something to try and figure out.

Those issues aside the boat ran great. We got in a little tubing just before a rain storm hit that sent us to the launch. It was great being on the river.

:thumb: I have enjoyed tagging along this thread and watching your progress. Lots of summer still left, so you will get some good use out of your 'new' boat.
