I heard a couple weeks ago that Willow Beach's federal trout hatchery was going to stop producing trout. I guess they ran out of funding, have no trout eggs on hand and only enough trout for through Thanksgiving.

Fast forward to this week... (the scuttle-butt is) The hatchery had a pump failure and they dumped all the remaining trout in the hatchery so they wouldn't die in the raceways.

I have nothing official, but from the sounds of it, Willow Beach will not longer have it's weekly trout stocking. And no trout stocking for any place supplied by Willow Beach's hatchery.

Here's my 08 Seadoo speedster 155 jet boat, tried to buy a Yamaha AR192 last year but it was a bit too long for my garage.

Yeah I heard the same thing..Do you think they dumped all the trout into the river right there at the hatchery? Should be some good fishing for trout and stripers for a while until all the trout are gone..

They dumped them straight out the hatchery's outflow pipe, from what I heard. I bet the fishing boom is going to be gone by the end of next week as what the fishermen don't get, the stripers and birds will. It's odd that the stipers weren't up in there feasting on trout as no one I talked to did much good Saturday, guess it's going to take a couple of days for the stripers to find the trout, then the striper fishing should be good. If I wasn't busy at work, I'd be heading back.....

I read on the AC site the hatchery had a 40,000 trout die-off in August, due to a clogged intake pipe and no water flow. With all the eel grass in the river below Hoover Dam, I can see how that would happen. It sounds like the hatchery is in need of repairs, and now no trout eggs... Probably not going to have any trout from WIllow's hatchery for over a year due to the repairs and loosing all of their stock....

Hey Jax, Good to see you back!

The main ramp at Echo would be a no-go as it's too shallow now and they moved the dock to Echo's low water launch ramp. To get to the low water launch ramp, turn left at the hotel's stop sign and follow the road 1-2 miles. It's a dirt road, so drive sloooooow if you don't want everything covered in dust. The ramp is concrete with a good angle for launching, parking is dirt/gravel.

Had a short trip to Mead this morning. Shore fished near Boulder Harbor for no luck. Went down to the Hemming Way fishing pier and talked to a couple that had caught a striper and a large mouth on cut anchovies…Happy Thanks giving to all.

Had a beautiful day on the Lake on Sunday...now I have to winterize for the first time since I have owned a boat? Damn Vegas weather.

Yep...

I'm heading out here in a minute to drain the engine, of course it's cold, dark and windy now.

I use the boat all winter long, so I don't do a full winterization. I just drain the engine and manifold(s) so they don't freeze and crack. While I'm at the lake during the winter, I'll pull 1/2 way up the ramp while leaving, pop the hatch and drain everything there, so all the excess water goes out the bilge drain.

Just did a full winterize on mine.getting tired of adjusting boat cover to keep rain out of it too.this sweet boat is gonna be ready for summer till death due us part lol.after all the hard work I have done its only getting harder! lol!

now that you mention it, i seem to remember something about that. can't find any pix to verify my memory though.
