tks for pix 12 volt

good work

My pleasure Jax

12vman,do you think your friends who won it can give us a few numbers about how many lights and what it took to make it happen?

I'll ask when I talk to them. I'm guessing 5,000? We'll see..
I know they're running diesel motor and gen, so that's where the power came from. Other than that, many hours of prep. Over the years they add a little here and there, and what they have done before as far as set up is routine.

I thought I would share these pics from the NPS - LMNRA

Pearce Ferry looking east towards the Grand Wash Cliffs.

Pearce Ferry Area.jpg
Take Pearce Ferry Road (past Meadview and South Cove) to the end where the take-out (only) ramp is located. Follow the trail to the left or enjoy the view from where you stand. Dangerous rapids have formed in this area so do not launch a vessel.

yes, I agree…Why would you camp there? It is beautiful, but to make the trip, you want to catch some fish…We will see..

With less trout there, those big old stripers should be easier to catch though, I think.Sorry to you trout boys for losing a good hole,I have lost lots of good spots over the years and I mean really good spots that held incredible fish. I just have to keep moving on and on. I have always learned that when one door closes another one opens somewhere.

I was thinking the same thing jj..I need to go give it a try.. I went out on Mead Friday morning but had no luck..Kinda windy and cold so we trolled around for 2 hours. We did see 3 coyotes and a huge bird we think was an eagle...

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, but once those few stripers are caught IT'S OVER, seeing as how striper are always on the move in search of food. But hopefully I'm completely wrong (man I hope so).

And yeah, who knows, maybe if a new door opens, it could lead us to a new fishing spot at willow where the bite is good, and not over fished. Probably 7-10+ miles down river by the power lines... Guess you'll need a boat to fish it, glad I'm a proud owner, lol..

Oh yeah, and I also wanted to say thanks 12v, I was just talking to the old lady about that event. I too wanted to go but missed it, so thanks for the pics. Looks awesome.

Things will be fine,, those few stripers will always remember that spot,It will never be over, Lake Mead doesn't allow its over thoughts anyway!! LOL, Your fisherman right? I started fishing and launching at government wash and as the lake dried up I moved to las vegas bay,I seen things there as they moved the marina in those couple months that I could have never imagined! Once it was all dried up there to where we couldn't launch I moved to calville and once again saw awesome things there like big horn sheep drinking in the same cove as I was fishing, never would have happened at goverment for shure.

From one outdoorsman to another:: Its never over!! I started fishing at government and as lake dropped I had to go to las vegas bay and then to calville. I always learned something new along the way as I complained, for example when I moved from government to las vegas bay I met a good coyote friend, and from las vegas bay to calville I fished along side big horn sheep in a cove, that would have never happened in government for real!! Lake Meads spirit is always alive, this is all im trying to say to you all.

double post!!!!!!! who cares as long as the point gets made right!!

Good point, I just really liked willow, but I really do need to get out more on mead and explore. Would love to be able to catch something of decent size for a change.

Theres one shure way of catching a good one, fire up the boat and go to a place where your heart beats so fast that you might not make it back and it will happen there somewhere. LOL can you feel this mead boaters?
