Re: calling all lake mead boaters! nevada
I seen motor boater on craigslist,I hope you sell it well, its a nice looking boat--What kinda boat are you looking for now motor?
yeah, it finally sold. took 2 1/2 long weeks but its gone now :blue:
I do still have motor boater though, and for now that's all I definitely need. just my little fishing boat. In the next year or two I hope to buy another runabout maybe something bigger than just the 16' I had, and definitely something newer.
The four winns freedom 160 was a good beginners boat for me to learn on. Learned a little about the do's and don'ts on the water. what I definitely should do and bring when going out on the lake, and heck, thanks to iboats and all of you, I learned how to work on a boat engine/motor/outdrive.
So it was a great learning boat like I said, cant wait to purchase the next one. It will be a while though because next on my things to buy list is a house.
Anyhow, quick question for you guys who are here in las vegas/Henderson, Would anyone happen to have an extra transom saver laying around that they don't use or don't need?
I finally took that trip from willow beach up to the hoover dam in motor boater (AWESOME TRIP), took about 40 mins to get up there, but that's only because I slowed down about 5 times due to people in canoes/kayaks, didn't want to be a **** and haul butt passed them and make all that wake. was pretty cool, saw a few little water falls and it was crazy how at one point the floor appears to be 30 to 50 feet deep and all of the sudden its only 7 ft deep
.
Anyways, on my way back from willow, while heading over to drop off my fishing buddy, I went over a set of train tracks and had a feeling it was to bumpy, and at that point I looked in the rearview mirror and saw my outboard go from the propped up position and SLAM to the down and ready for business position
. I immediately pulled over and saw that the head of my transom saver broke in half. everything else seemed to be ok thank god.
but now I'm ready to put motor boater into lake mead and i'm going to be heading out tomorrow morning hoping to launch around 0530 hrs. but I need a new transom saver 1st. I went to bass pro but the ones they had were $50.00 and too long for what I needed. the one they had that I could've used, they were out of of course. so if anyone can help a boater out, let me know. even just a loaner for the trip.
