Re: Boat Names

After numerous years of friends teasing me that I was always on my boat and never at work (I'm a Banker), I decided to call my boat "Bankers Hours"!:D

Re: Boat Names

mines named bikini rule, because any girls i take out on it i always say there is a bikini rule on the boat so you have to wear one on board. they used to say they didn't see any bikini rule written anywhere so i fixed that lol. i just tell them now "i dont make the rules just enforce them"

Re: Boat Names

The boat I currently own already had a name that I liked, so I kept it. It had a picture of the grim reaper on it and the name "Fin Reaper". :D

Re: Boat Names

Bought my boat for my kids, ofcourse they dont like it. I wanted a fiberglass vintage and found it in my 1960 Larson all american. My father and I argued for days that the boat had been repainted, I said nay, he said yay. So after a small scratch to the gel coat just to prove I was right, ( in her best Dory from Finding Nemo) my girlfriend said, Yes, im a natural blue. And Dory was named.

I thought that was one of the funniest lines in the movie.

Im also looking for a glass fin boat to restore. Depending on how much cosmetic work it needs, I plan on naming it 'Joan Rivers'.

Re: Boat Names

A friend of mine bought an 18' Bayliner bowrider for he and his family two years ago. He has a wife, and three daughters. He also has two dogs, also females, and a pet fish that surely has to be female as well. Anyhow, he has been agonizing over what to name his boat since he bought it. He wants to name it "Four Queens" in obvious reference to his lovely family. However, the three guys who ride in the boat with him every Tuesday night for "guy night" heartily disagree.............

My Grandfather's boat, a 1960 MFG Niagara was relegated to use as a slow speed fishing boat on the Au Sable River in northeast Michigan for most of [the boat's] life. I inherited it four years ago and have struggled to find a name worthy of the ol' gal. Finally decided on 'Au Sable Angler' this past winter. Fitting tribute to the boat, the old guy and a unique name :)

Re: Boat Names

My Father bought me my 1st boat, a 1965 Sears 12' semi-V w/4' beam cos it was on sale - $62 marked down from 69! lol still have it and fish it a lot. 8hp Mariner w/12P prop and vent holes, homemade jack plate, and tops out at 26mph GPS verified. Bow mounted 40lb Minn Kota w/maximizer, it's a swamp boat special named Mo-Skeeter. Bass fishing? I'll out fish Bill Dance in small water.
just finished building me a 15' Bass Boat, slapped a 100horse Johnson on the back and named her "ALREADY GONE". took an old Terry style boat, new flotation foam, stringers, deck, transom, raised the gunwales 4" in aft to 0" forward, and transfered the top deck off another Bass Boat with live wells. New epoxy primer, the works! Not exactly sure what pitch prop I have, but am expecting 50mph or maybe knot! lol never could have done it w/o Iboats forums!! thanks guys!!!

Re: Boat Names

My first cabin cruiser was named cherry bobber. After a lot of time and work We named it "hope floats". We named joked about how we hope it floats.

Last year my wife and I got approved to adopt a baby and after investing time and money we just couldn't come up with the rest of the money required to adopt($26,000) so we had to forfeit the adoption. While we were out on our boat "Hope floats" we met a family with a young pregnant daughter that wanted to adopt her baby out when she was born.

It was nothing less than a miracle from God. We ended up adopting this beautiful baby girl. My wife and I have always wanted a little daughter and she had a list of girl names for ten years with Rylie Paige at the top of the list.

This winter I bought a Sea Ray Sundancer 300 and we just decided to name her "Life of Rylie"

Very happy with the baby and the boat.

Re: Boat Names

I think I'll name mine 4OHONEK, OR FORO1K. Just bought it with a loan on my 401k, and now I can use my 4OHONEK any time I want without any fees or penalties.
