Re: Boat Names
After a quarter century in the Navy, owning a boat wasn't exactly high on my list of priorities.
One day, my girlfriend mentioned that she had always wanted a boat so she could ride on the river.
It immediately became my self appointed mission to get her a boat and fulfill her (literally) life-long dream. After one false start (I got badly taken by a guy in Ohio), I swore off used boats and went to a dealer. I found a new left over at a good price and showed it to her. She fell completely in love with it and was overwhelmed when we bought it right then.
In my mind she is the Skipper and I am her crew, so it fell to her to name the craft.
She wanted the name to reflect my relationship with her and hers with the rivers she grew up near as well as the boat that was going to take her on those rivers. Because I am German she chose to display her "triple entendre" in the German language, hence: Mein Liebesaff?re
