scrubbed all the big clumps and pieces of carpet that remained off with wire wheel in a 7” sander polisher. don’t think i’m going to worry about getting glue residue off, as i’m led to believe the new contact cement will reactivate this stuff. otherwise lacquer thinner will remove it, but slowly and tediously.

cap on homemade stand to be able to work on it. it was surprising how much crap there was on it. little degreaser and a sponge with green scotchbrite pad worked wonders.

Have you decided what you are going to replace your flotation with?? Main reason I tore into mine is it started listing real bad after a big rain last year, I assumed the foam would be crap when I uncovered it, but the core samples showed otherwise. I took the cores & put them in a jar of water for 3 week & when I took them out last night they were soaked. Soo now I've convinced myself the foam has got to go. thinking about going back with a blend of blue board & pour in

still working on it, slowly of course. fishing season is still 3 weeks away, so have some time. don’t think i’ll be ready for opening day, but am trying.

still scrubbing the inside of the hull, and have the cap in urethane primer.

more of the cap, with the rear deck before and after a cleaning, then sprayed.

after scrubbing with scotchbrite sponge and some degreaser. really annoying trying to scrub below your knees while trying to balance on a small board across the stringers!!

now to remove the decals. tried heat gun, and it worked, but was quite slow. steady heavy pressure with razor blade scraper and no heat worked way better.

thought i’d see what it looked like with just the kind decal. not too bad. might be a tough decision deciding what decals to put back on.

I'm waiting for you to pour your foam!! I have never done this & I'm debating on just over pouring & cutting and trying to use some blue board as a type of sub-floor to hold it down. I just don't want to end up with pockets for water to get trapped.--your's looks great though.

so while removing the adhesive residue from the decals, it appears the boat has been painted with a lacquer paint. the lacquer thinner i was using softened the paint enough that a razor blade with light pressure pulled it up in sheets. not all the way down to aluminum, but it looked like rubber from an old balloon. as soon as the thinner dried, it turn crispy and crumbled. guess i’ll have to sand down to bare aluminum. fml.

got the transom in place, not fully installed yet, but it’s in place, and bent the aluminum sheet back over the top.

also got the cap back on, and riveted in place. around 110 blind rivets and same number of solid rivets. having trouble uploading pics for some reason.
