Ha ha! Good...Does it flex anymo?

Haven't stood on it since I put the 1708 down... I don't see how it could lol... I'll have to get my wifes trained eye out there to check... I never could notice it before, it was only obvious when you saw someone else step there.

Looks good. I will have to remember the way you used the foam stiffeners on the underside. My Coronado inboard has several access panels that become the middle section of the floor and I can see this being a light weight way to stiffen them up if I sense any flexing.

Yea, it worked out really well, and I already have plans for other stuff using the foam.

Few more things done tonight... got the rear seat box tabbed in with 1708. Then i moved to the front and ground a little to clean up from tabbing. Then I got the bow seat storage holes laid out and cut...

just a tip for those that don't know, fiberglass ruins jigsaw blades quicker than a ... something fast...
I went thru 4 blades on one hole and they were decent blades... had to make a late night trip to wallyworld for more.. oddly enoughthe cheap black and decker blades from wm lasted way longer.

I'm with mickyryan on the oscillating tool, especially when I was cutting 5/16" thick fiberglass. Those things rock.

Check out harbor freight for diamond attachments or on line. Very inexpensive. And hardly any dust.!

And closer than anything else - which means less grinding. I made a 2 ft. cut with a circular saw and said "nope" and went right to the store and bought the variable speed oscillating tool.

Lol.. Yea, I had heard really good things about them, I just held off because I figured the harbor freight one was probably junk and I didn't wanna drop 150 bucks on the FEIN brand one. But if your saying the harbor freight tool isn't too shabby, I might have to pick one up.

I have quite a few HB tools. Some are better than others. Chicago Electric makes the power tools, and they tend to be decent as long as you don't get the absolute cheapest. The machine shop tools by Chicago Machinery lacks a lot to be desired. They are typically "ok" but any structural metal is thin and weak. I have a HB drill press I've had for 10 or so years. I used to make medieval armor and it was used a LOT on 12, 14, and 16 gauge stainless and it still runs like a champ.

I actually really like ridgid tools a lot. I have a router and orbital sander and they are both powerhouses.

Just got through doing what your doing. But had to replace all wood in floor stringers and transom.
I bought white vinyl on eBay for the real bad stuff and I used the Sem products for vinyl restoration. That's the filler, soap and vinyl prep then selected the vinyl coat colors. Used goop coat it on the floor. All repairs were done with west system epoxy and marine guard 8000 and aero marine pour foam. It's a project you have but it's satisfying. Mine was a 88 rinell 192s with a 260 omc cobra. Good luck.

Slow progress lately, got a few odds an ends done. So much going on the last couple weeks and upcoming week. At least after it got dark out, i've spent some time doing some video editting and got the next episode.... well episode 5.5 up. Has some bonus stuff I learned making the rear seat box and thought it might be useful info.

Enjoy...

Side note, got out on the boat for a couple hours tonight and got the bulkheads installed under the helm and the port side as well... Left about a 3/4" gap at the bottom for crud and water to drain from the bow seat storage.

I'm reasonably sure those might be the last things I need to fiberglass other than the engine mounts... Coming to a milestone!

Per mickyryan and chevymaher fashion... NO PICS! lol :lol::lol:
Actually, it was just dark when i finished, I'll snap some tomorrow if I think of it.

Lol.. yea me too... I actually regularly forget pics cuz I spend half the time taking video that I don't think about it..

that being said, I also released the next video episode about fixing the floor stiffness issue. Also a 2 second cameo by Friscoboater lol... hope he doesn't mind to google image search.
