Torqey little bugger!:D

I think you're right about the timing mark. I'm new to boats but, I guess you'll end up tweaking it a bit with the load of the prop anyway. I gotta see a hole shot now:D Sounds sweet!

Awesome, can't wait to hear it in person! Once I get Miss Morgan going, we need to have the ok / tx I-boats meet up! :D:D

I am going to try and tune it this evening. I think I have the wrong balancer and I need to put a new mark where it is supposed to be. I will get some more video.

Here is some more video that my son shot of me tuning the engine today. I am having a hard time getting the thing to warm up. It just will not get hot. I am wondering if I have the thermostat in the wrong place (See the video). I think that is why I am having trouble getting the carb tuned right.

You will never get it to warm up with the fresh water hose hooked to it. :D

Would the Clymers guide point you to the right spot for the thermostat?

Nope tried that. One manual says on top, the other said bottom.

Good link mountain man. That one shows the tstat on the manifold. Mine is a two piece design and there is place for the tstat in each area.

What I don't understand is the use of a cold manifold system like they talk about. With a condensation problem in cold manifolds, why would they even do it?

All I know is the engine will not warm up at all.

I think that before I'd tear it back apart, I'd try premixing the water with a Y adapter at the washing machine supplies, to about 60-65 degrees. Just to see how much the cold tap water is controlling the engine temperature.

Without seeing how the guts of the thermostat housing are made I'm in the dark, but, I'd think that the hot engine water should be on the control side of the thermostat, and the bypass water on the other side. Just my own logic I guess. I am new to boats though, so I could be dead wrong.

Hey friscoboater,
According to my shop manual, you have it in the correct place. My manual has a cutaway of the housing but I can't get it to copy.

Mine shows that too to a point. The problem with that is there is not a way to stop the water from flowing out of the block before it can worm up. If it is moved down it will still allow water to move around the manifolds but stay in teh block until it is warm enough.
