Sounds like you've got a plan, and you'll get it handled... Bummer though. Wonder what happened? Last coat w/ not enough wax maybe?

Looking forward to seeing the fresh white deck soon though.............

Wood Finish Tip 101!!! BLO (Boiled Linseed Oil, Mineral Spirits, Polyurethane, Artist Oil Paint Made from Linseed oil (Get it at Michaels) or Art supply stores. Mix 1 cup BLO, 2 Cups MS, 1 cup Poly then Blend in the Paint to tint to your Liking. You can get any color of Stain you want. If you apply this mix to Pine without a tint it will pre-seal the wood and you can then apply your stain and the pine won't stain blotchy especially if you use Gelstain.

Tables look good by the way!!!

Thanks for the recipe WoG....and thanks for the compliment on the tables....The Admiral likes 'em..

Went to work on the Ebko this weekend..Sanding the top outside of the hull....still a little PVA run off on it...that stuff gummed up so bad I decided to do something else...besides there was this pile of wood in the way...

So I started working on the cabinets for the garage....these three will go above the windows...maybe later down the road I will do more beside them...

Nice job Troop ! Are ya making doors for them ?
Luckily I can usually bring home storage cabinets from work . We are always tearing out millwork in hospitals and other buildings . I hate to see them go to the dumpster but I don't have the room for anymore . We took a sledge to enough cabinets the other day to prolly install in yours, mine ,and Woody's garage . Good plywood one's with laminate tops ! :eek:hwell:

Oh I just hate seeing things like that go to waste...I was thinking you had some nice looking cabinets...no wonder...Yes making the doors this evening...no dado blade so made a few passes with the regular saw blade and used 3/8 ply for the panels..working good so far..

Doors are all made...still need to cut the shelves out and decide if I want them to be adjustable or not...then it will be time to paint...found three gallons of battleship grey garage floor paint in the basement PO left behind...old, but will test it out before using it.

Here's a cheap and easy way to make adjustable shelf Brackets. Take 2 pieces of 1 1/2" inch pieces of pine and drill 3/4" holes in em spaced at 2" Now rip em in half Now make two 3/4" bars with rounded ends for shelf brackets Nail the 4 shelf holders in the sides of the cabinets and use the bars to hold the shelves. Notch the shelves to fit around the brackets. I can send pics of mine if you want em. Hope this drawing helps to make this all clear...

Re: '78 Ebko Lebaron - Therapy

^^ Awesome idea....

If you use a piece of 2X2, you can drill the holes, halve it along the length against the holes, and then cut those 2 pieces thru the holes & you have both sides & both ends of a shelf set up w/ all the notches in the same location in all 4 corners.......

That it is Gus..I really miss working with my hands sometimes...to me not a better feeling than to know you made something worth having around...

Wood, that makes sense to me...was also thinking about just doing some 1/4 holes on the side panels...sort of what you were saying JB..

Yeah, but EVERYBODY does the Holes!!!! And you have to make a jig and ensure they are exactly the same height on both sides and then buy the shelf clips yada yada yada!!!! Oh well. Go ahead!!!! Here's a shelf hole jig if you wanna do that!!!!

Last time I built shelves in a cabinet, I just used some 1/4 x 1/4 pine stock screwed at equal spaces on each side, if spaced properly, you can tilt the shelf to set at multiple configurations.
