Re: '78 Ebko Lebaron - Therapy

Your commitment to this project continues to amaze... This boat has required more cosmetic surgery than Michael Jackson (but, personally, I think the Ebko's nose looks better)... Maybe you should name it "thriller" instead of therapy...

roflmao.....The therapy will be for me...just went out to get started this morning...the resin I put down is still soft...maybe the sun will get it kicking when it pops out...I still have one really low spot..the first secton I ground out when I first flipped it...and need to get something over the spot closest to the transom...heading to the local store for a gallon of house resin...hope it is good enough....

Re: '78 Ebko Lebaron - Therapy

Just a little sun and the resin from last night kicked....got some resin fron lowes...different color than what I have been using...think I have everything to hull height or above now...doing some more sanding...only 4 hours left on rental...but it is too hot to stay out...so taking a break...hope to get the rest sanded down before I have to return it...made some fairing compound last night...put it up towards the front where the new glass meets the hull...think it is going to work out good....may hand sand it though...it is loading the paper pretty bad...

it's just sanding....but it is still progress...

I only lasted another 45 minutes? Must be getting soft...

Humps are going away....slowly...still going to have some spots to fill...but I think it is going well...

Time to take the rented air back...I think it was money well spent...wish i had a garage, could have got more use of it..oh well..it did what I wanted...

Not perfect but alot better than when I started out....

Trooper Nice work. I'm enjoying your thread. I'm very close to getting back into my rebuild. I'm waiting on clearance from my Dr.. I was in a car wreck June 10. I can't wait to get started again.

As my fellow Ohioian from a lil south said good work and allot of it. Having a grage and a godsent along with a compressor sometimes I take it for granted. A lil up here mid 50's put the rig away for the season she did'nt even get wet this year go figure!, Keep on keepin on Troop you got a big fan here look forward to your daily progress.

Yes you did. Your boat is coming along nice. I'm sure we'll both feel very proud and satisfied with the fruits of our labor on Splash Day.
Good to meet more Ohioans Fanny. I consider this forum a God sent. I wouldn't even attempt my restore without it.

Way to go, Troop, you are kicking this glassing and sanding thing squarely in the butt...

It is looking better every step...

You are getting real close to some final fairing and sanding before the big put back...

I definitely feel your pain about having to dodge the water and heat bullets...

Have a great week...L8r, gt

Can see all the hard work you put in this weekend. It's looking really good. Keep working the high spots down and watch all the low spots start getting better.
We will ONE DAY get to the END of all this sanding. :D

troop, StevenT,

It was strange seeing your post (StevenT) and troop's response about Middletown, OH, my home town. Fenwick High School, Class of 67.

Small world.

Sea ya...

Three shots showing the dips in the keel....I really think I can blend this in...any advice or issues with just making a radius towards the back?
