SnowHunter,
Sorry to hear about your problems with the HID number. That really suks.
Have you tried to contact Bayliner. One problem we have with some of these older boats is getting information.
Good luck in your quest.
Bob

Just a glitch :D I'm sure it'll get figured out..

Yes, I sent them an email about an hour ago (The one that got posted in another Bayliner thread a few days ago). Probably won't hear back for a few days. I'm hoping they can give me some kind of information. Heck, at this point, any tidbit would be nice :D

Thanks :)

update on boat pedigree...

Got the right ID#, Bayliner customer service ROCKS :D There is an R before the U. On the boat, it is almost completely worn away, so I missed it till I looked at the # from almost a sitting position with the light hitting it just right.

Come to find out the boat was built in GA too...thats what the -v in the HID is!

Still nothing in the DNR database though (just got off the phone with them) This ones a head scratcher for sure. Guess the DNR LEO will help me get this figured out.

Snow, here is a link to a book that is a "must read" for building/rebuilding fiberglass boats. I read it a few years ago when I was working on an old Wellcraft, and it is an amazing book, especially when it comes to how best to install stringers, bulkheads, reinforcement, etc. I think a lot of people consider it THE fiberglass boat book to have on your shelf or in your shop.

Enjoy!

Glad to hear you got the registration sorted out, must be a real relief for you. Years and years ago I had a similar problem with a 67 Camaro, I wasn't as lucky wound up parting it out :(

Guess you'll be back on track and grinding in no time :D

Mornin Bill :) Yup, I'm glad the registration turned out to be easier then I'd originally been told, hoping the PO gets back to me about getting some paperwork sorted.

I hope so! Its monsooning right now  Don't think I'll be gettin anything done for a few days. I'm "itchin" to get some more work done and get things movin along!!!

I need to finish my registration process too...I hope I wont experiance the same issues as you...I guess I should not have dumped a bunch of money into it brfoe that:(

Yeah, I'd thought about workin under a tarp, but with the respirator not bein usable (need new cartridges) right now, its pretty much stand still for a while. What I wouldnt give for a garage with AC :D Now that the rain is past, it sure is muggy!!!

Yeah, It seems the stuff with the Bayliner is easier for registration. At least it has a HIN. The Sea Ray could take a few months, since it'll need a HIN assigned for me to register it. Joy joy

Hope yours goes smoothly!!!!!

It's great that you got the paperwork squared away.

You should see what I woke up to. Major snow. It will be gone in a couple of days but what a mess.
