Got my 3/4" thick King Starboard cut and edges routed.... Decided to just mount it on top as it was less work and I need the boat on Weds. I made some stainless lower brackets and mounted them to the transom with stainless through bolts (epoxied holes first then will bed in 5200). I tack welded in some upper heim joint mounts to my frame. I then got my diagonal supports and heim joints fitted. I will have a slight amount of adjustment available in the heims to set the angle of the platform once I see how she looks in the water. Will be hanging the new 2 step telescoping ladder under the platform. Thinking of putting it out to the side and then maybe buying another one for the other side? Still may need to route some traction grooves along with some vent holes (in case I take the boat out on Lake Erie). Took frame back off to finish weld then drill drain holes and deck mount holes tonight, then I will remount permanently.

Very impressive and a clean outcome! I'm assuming you already checked the clearance of the IO with those supports? Just hope the prop doesnt hit those, looks snug.

Yep.... I turned the drive stop to stop. With the drive all the way up in trailer position and turned to the stops, it is about 1.5" clearance between the drive trim cylinder upper pivot cover cap. Much more clearance when lower.

Nice! It looks like it would have plenty when low, and assumed you checked when its up, but figured it would be a good question to ask lol

Yep, I measured about 4 times before I drilled through my transom for the lower mounts. Lol. I wanted to use through bolts vs lags so I had to be pretty precise to get this to work out in regards to where they came through on the front side of the transom. I used two 1/4-20 stainless bolts per bracket and I am going to use the "devil's caulk" 3m 5200 when I assemble the final time. Do not want any leaks long term as these are below the water line. As a positive note, when I drilled the holes the chips coming out were nice dry wood.... Nice reconfirmation the my transom did not experience the rot I had in my starboard stringer and bulkheads.

After finish TIG welding the frame (I used all but 1 remaining stick of aluminum filler rod), I used the dreaded Satan's glue (aka 3M 5200) last night to bed my fittings to the boat. Also pb epoxied the 1/2" ply back spacers to the inside and then dabbed anti-sieze on the stainless locknuts and tightened everything up with my wife keeping the screws from turning (to ensure the 5200 sealed the screws to the holes). That #@#$% Satan's glue got everywhere and took me nearly two hours to clean up using paper towels and about 1/4 gallon of MEK. The round saddle joints and the close proximity of my aluminum tube hull and rub rail made it difficult to clean up. My fingers are stained white now. All that said, the thing is rock solid and sealed perfectly. Tonight I will mount the plastic deck and the new ladder. Early tomorrow morning boat is headed to Lake James come hell or high water for a family outing.

Made it to the lake yesterday..... Platform worked well. It is a little slippery but the kids loved it. Need to come up with a better way to retain the ladder as the velcro strap is not very robust.

That's some great work! I love it! Did you ski the Radar? I've skied mine twice...and I like it. I didn't feel like I skied particularly well though.

Oh, and here's a crazy thought...If you think you might want to try the 67" we could do a swap. I'll take my bindings off and ship you my 67 flat, and you and you can ship me the 65 and we'll see who likes what length better. Just an idea though. No pressure.

No I did not try my ski yet.... Lake was too rought with 4th of July boaters. That and my wife is still learning to drive the boat. Will give it a go next week when we have a house rented there for the week. I will let you know how it goes for sure.

Next project will be to figure out how to store a kneeboard, a wakeboard and multiple skis on boat without taking up valuable real estate. Someday might build a tower, but I am looking at options for storage near term (gunnel mounted racks?)

Here is what the new boat manufacturers are doing with a lot of their boats. Not sure if you could make it work for a kneeboard, but I'm sure you could fab something up. I was thinking of doing something like this in my boat when I get to that point. Even though we already have the tower.

Those are pretty neat, but wont work due to my wrap around seating. I can get one set of combo skis in my ski locker (plus maybe the slalom), but wakeboard and kneeboards are both too big to fit even by themselves. I am sitting here at work thinking about maybe being able to build a rack/basket straddling my engine then lay the boards on top of that if there is enough room between the top of the engine and the bottom of my sundeck/engine cover. Might work, but also might get too warm right above the engine? will have to measure tonight. I have one week from yesterday to build something as we are heading to the lake this coming Weds for a week long vacation in a rented house. Boat will be loaded to capacity with family most of the time.
