You need a kicker in case that happens again. Then you don't have to call for a tow, just paly off as tho you are trolling.LOL
Deck, great!
Outdrive, not so great.
Skied the Ohio once. Boated it once after, other then just the once for thunder......
Logs, shut the front door, whole trees & root-ball stumps the size of a VW Bug
Hope it's less painful then you expect. And quicker too.... Hoping you get a speedy return to the water.
Can't have you commuting to work in a car or truck like the common folk:facepalm:
sorry to hear about the drive.
what drive system you have? (too lazy to go back a read)
i have a spare v8 pre-alpha drive if you want to borrow it, i wont need it this year
Probably will be a ssei conversion or a mercruiser outdrive if it is the outdrive. The old omc was bound to break eventually, its the weak link at this point. I think 325 hp motor compared to old 260 hp motor might have had something to do with it also. Hopefully will know atleast what the problem is soon. I know it won't be good with the sounds it was making. The prop does spin freely if that says anything. That stinks man.
I had a sound like that when I lost a blade of my prop a month ago, also a similar sound when the upper unjointed went in my alpha. Either. Way you gotta get er on da trailer if for nothing else but to get the water outa your lower unit before it rusts.
It sucks but worse case you can make the switch to the alpha that you been thinken about.
Hope you get it back in order soon
and the dock looks great
We will see, I do still have the omc on there. probably opt for conversion instead of donor boat. Speaking of lights, lolSo sorry to hear about the drive - but I thought this boat was powered by lights?
Man, it stinks to have such an immaculate rig that's now having some trouble under the hood.
You've got an OMC on that thing, right? You going to try and replace or re-power? (I guess it depends on the extent of the problem)...
If you've got to repower, I would look at some donor rigs... I got my 350/alpha (gen ii) out of a donor boat, and pretty happy with the score... I don't think you would have to do a lot of transom work, since you have the cobra.
I know you will get it figured out soon enough... Again, sorry for the misfortunate..
My mechanic n I were just discussing the Sei drive
he has a customer that's shipped it back lke 4 times for repairs all garuntee work
anyway that's the pita behind the 10 year garuntee , shipping.
Cant wait to see the rgb underwaters
Yeah they have a conversion for omc and merc. Thanks, and I'd be happy to travel to build anywhere.i think the keyholes are pretty close...i believe they actually made an adapter to go crom the cobra drive to a merc, for awhile anyways...
BTW, your docks look fantastic....if i end up buying my friends lot up in westport, i know who i'll be calling for a dock
Thanks man, keeping her clean is definately a job. But I hate to see it dirty for long.Really nice work! I will use some of your ideas on my boat for sure. I just wish I had the energy and time to get it as clean too.
I have been following along for a while, You have yourself a nice boat. Sorry about the drive problem. As stated above I have heard nothing but good things about the SEI drives and they make a conversion kit that will allow you to bolt Alpha Gen 2 (I believe) or their drive to your OMC cobra transom assembly. Check it out on their web site. Good luck
Mike
uh...you forgot to turn them on so we can all see!!!
Well see, they just come up pre-cooked,lolI suppose blinded by the light fish, taste just as good as them seeing kind
