Re: 1990 Chris Craft 254 Seahawk ( Refurb and upgrades)

come on Budd show us the light
i bet you cant stop changin the colors to get the camera:facepalm:

oh lord of the light shine upon us:D
Is that like Lord of the rings, lol

TitanTn, ask em too see the new lights
he's prolly waitn on like 100 requests before he shows us. lol
Just had to wait for them to load to photobucket, lol

i think he said 600, 800, and 1200 grit
speed gives heat i'm guessin that helps
That is correct, 600,800,1200, but the 600 has already made it shine like glass, but I will probably still go to 1200. Only heat i know about was the sweat coming off of me while sanding.

saturdaynightfever_300x298.jpg

Me and this guy want to see the lights!

That truly cracks me up! lmao

someone wake up southkogs,

i'm bettin he took down the whole grid!
or
he's tryin to explain to his 500 neighbors why its necessary to light up the east side of town tonite:D
Thank god I don't live on the east side, they would call the cops on me, The getto folk don't seem to mind, think its because half of them around here didn't pay there light bill.

i bet in your infinate wisdom you had the mathmatics figured out
to get the correct depth to just cover the walkway huh

looks darn sweet

more more more lol

mcraney +1 me too

Thankyou sir
Of coarse I did! lol Got lucky that is!

this guy says get your but up on that roof with both remotes and the camera:cool:
Already been up there, you are just not allowed to see,lol YET

Hey CC,
Just saw some of the pics...

Man-o-man that just absolutely looks wicked sweet...Super Kudos!

I am literally chuckling to myself as I look at the pics because it is just the coolest thing I've seen!!!! So awesome. I think the fewer lights per inch is a good thing in case as more would likely have interfered with your forward vision. Can't wait to see it all buttoned up.

Some people are just hard to please, lol Thanks man. Hope all is well with you and your family Kevin, looks like indiana got hammered today. Had some sprinkles here and tornados both north and south of us, we were lucky. Worst damage in like 35 years around here, god bless every one, I know there will be some fatalities for sure.

Couple more pics just because I'm bored. Spent most the day preparing for tornados, got lucky here, not so lucky north of me. I could just see my boat flying around in a circle with the lights on. Poor humor for such a devestating day around here, but I did think about it.

This is the orange I was talking about, I like it for some reason.

becky130-1.jpg

Here is one for the girls, lol

becky147-1.jpg

Red ......... and blue. When the anchor/running lights are on, it will show a white top,lol I also have white underwater lights.

becky144.jpg

Cyan

becky141.jpg

Red, its hard to beleive that doesn't effect night vision. But it works.

Re: 1990 Chris Craft 254 Seahawk ( Refurb and upgrades)

It was windy'n'stuff.

I stood in the front yard and watched the f4 tornado that leveled Henryville Indiana 10 miles away and watched a funnel cloud, maybe a tornado, less than a mile away.... The clouds overhead were all moving clockwise around me, my ears were popping, there was a loud high pitched sound from it, and all I could think was dammit Budd turn those lights off before we all blow away!!!!

All kidding aside, thanks for the well wishes.... we were spared here but there are thousands of people who have it really rough right now.

EDIT: was an f4 not an f3...

Really glad to hear all is well, the pictures coming in from henryville and pekin are just speechless. The power of nature is nothing less than pure amazement. As beautiful as it can be, it can put your life and life style in jeapordy in the blink of an eye.

CC, smoke...I'm surely glad that you both are ok. We've had some wind and such up here near Chicago, but nothing like what your area has gotten. I've got family in Georgia and we're praying for them too tonight.

BTW, Love the lights CC. I'm definitely installing the underwater stern lights and a strip or two of the RGB's.
Stay safe.

Man, Chris, what you are doing is striking. Kinda gives me encouragement not to get too discouraged with my rebuild. You certainly have given me some ideas that had never occurred to me before.
Really sad news for those that were hit by all the storms yesterday and today, just pray that there are no more storms tonight.

Thanks Mike, hope all is well with the family in Georgia, you get high winds all the time in Chicago, I used to live in bolingbrook. Make sure you show us your upgrades when you install;)

Thanks for the complements. :)

Yup, tornados north and south of the river. wierd, it was like I was right in the middle and it was as calm as could be. Really bad stuff up north and some down south. Last count was 30 deceases, 15 in indiana and the other 15 in kentucky. I am sure it will go up from what we are seeing here. Were not even in tornado season yet:eek:

And I swear, I didn't inhale,lol

Re: 1990 Chris Craft 254 Seahawk ( Refurb and upgrades)

Not to derail this discussion of lights, Budd, but a few weeks back you were working on your engine cover and smoke suggested using Quick Roof. One of my urgent projects is to quiet my engine noise down. My engines sit directly below the helm seats under 3 side-by-side fiberglass floor panels. Great access and good clearance, but these panels act like kettle drums and resonate all of the sound from below. I've gotten a few recommendations from guys here, but that Quick Roof stuff looks ideal for the underside of my deck.

Do either of you have any concerns about it sticking suspended above the engine like that? Smell? Flamability? My fuel tanks are mounted outboard of each engine vertically and it looks like this Quick Roof might adhere to those as well. I thought about closed-cell foam around the engine compartment, but this looks like it might work better.
