Been working on the swim platform all day after seeing grandchild ill post pics when finished :)

ok so here is what i was working on all weekend mostly:)
i drilled my holes , ground the hull so i could epoxy the brackets as well as bolt,
then i cut my angle to 30 " based on that's the measurement to keel , then i took and drilled bolted up everything first then grinded aluminum with flap wheel to scuff it up , then I took and brazed all i could , then I took and drilled for attaching wood
the wood was easy part:)

Man this must be the year of DIY swim platforms... I feel left out lol.

looks awesome! Is it pretty solid? Most of the ones I see have the lower arms down further but I never liked the look of it.. your's looks cleaner.

I would use Epiphanes spar varnish, best stuff going for UV resistance.

Varnished swim platforms can get real slippery, thats why most wood ones are oiled teak....a slippery area by the prop can get ugly real quick..JMO

Yeah i didnt want the var ish just preservative just not sure what to put on cedar i just used stain before and worked well

Let me teak about dat? O I L ike the teaky look. Maint. yea but really Mick. You'll own this boat 1 season and build a 13 story cruise liner. ;) It's a stain too.

Great idea ill stick to teak , and yeah kc i wont be getting rid of this one :) this is my favorite kinda boat :)

ok so maybe i got a lil crazy tonight but i think it came out decent, bottom tail needs a lil sanding i think but it didint show like that looking at it only in pic so ugh
