Carb is back down to #81 jets, and dropped the primary accelerator pump back down to 30cc

Hoping to take out this weekend. Need to see why the outdrive is dropping. I think I damaged a piston seal, or a load holding check valve is stuck open

Received a 3-bank battery charger and a 12 volt water pump for the boat. Will be adding a flush port, shore power, and a transom shower in the next few weeks

Original was pro mariner and would only charge flooded
2 was charles model and middle bank just stopped charging
3 new is pro mariner

Shore power connection starboard side above swim platform on stern

Thanks. since fuel and water are on the starboard side, I made the assumption that the shore power should go there. however thought I would ask.

My fuel is port side amidship
Wat tank port side swim platform opposite shore power
Fresh water hose connection below shore power

So pulled the boat out to adress the missing bearing cap......

Ended up buying 2 new hubs, going to clean one of the old ones up as a spare

Then, while working on the bearings, noticed a large puddle of gear lube under the drive......pucky

So now the drive is off and luckily I think I have enough seals from the repaint to address this

I think VP does some great design better then Merc, but the DP Nut is off base IMO

At least Merc uses full threads

The leak is the back to back seals for the forward prop shaft

so, last night as I was picking up the trash in the yard from some animal tearing the garbage can apart and dragging it all over.....

I have all the parts needed to build a second drive.

so, going to build the second drive while re-sealing this one. that way I will never need it......

and it takes up less room assembled than it does in pieces scattered thru the garage shelves.

So, spent the day cleaning the spare drive bits.

Lots of calcium buildup from it being in lake michigan for a season

The primary reason I got the drive cheap. The gearbox grenaded

I did get another gearbox from CL a few years ago

Pulled the bearing carrier for the primary drive, looks like I am the reason it leaked. Must have folded the seal over

just bought a bunch of seals and shims from volvopentastore.com (iboats official volvo page). some of the shims were much cheaper from ebay, so have them coming too

of all the seal kits and extra parts I have, I almost have enough to seal up both drives.

so in the mean time, taking care of come corrosion around a few bolts on the primary drive, and will re-paint both drives the same silver color

still waiting on parts...... emailed customer service a few times. no real answer.

asked to cancel the order, went to ebay, now I have lots of parts coming. literally.... a lot of 8 shims (need 1), a lot of 4 o-rings, need 2, a lot of 4 gaskets, need 2.....
