Spent Saturday working away at the hit list on the boat.

wired up the amp and radio

cleaned out a mud dauber nest

discovered the port-a-potty top tank leaks

so...... Sunday morning fixed the port-a-potty

Not the greatest photographs, however its a soft splash at least.

dropped in at the Fort Hamer boat ramp which is only 3 miles from the house. good thing its close

bad thing..... its farther up the river, which means that the river gets shallow in a few places......

still have a few things on the list that need to get finished:

install wiper arm
fabricate / install cabin interior closet
fabricate /install cabin interior bulkhead wall
fabricate / install final ceiling panels
install cabin door
install cabin lighting
new anchor rope

and have a few things to fix after the soft splash:

swap NO oil pressure alarm switch for NC
re-paint the props from running aground in the muck in a manatee no-wake zone (@#$%@#@#$!@#$ shallow river)
flush the HX from running aground in the muck.......

and the most important.....swap the helm around because the bolt pattern from the new helm is opposite the old helm.... and I never checked it prior

yes..... left the dock with turning right is going left....

also need to read the plugs, think I need to go bigger on the jets on the secondaries.

this restoration started as a re-power pulling the old SBC on January 24th, 2016

4 years 5 months 2 weeks 3 days........

Wow . . . That's sticking with it for sure. Glad you are back on the water. :thumb:

After all of you engine and outdrive work, would you be considered one of our Volvo-Penta 'experts' :noidea:

Thanks Ted....... not an expert, just a guy with hands-on knowledge

although I can tell you what gets plugged when you drive the outdrive into the muck coming off plane in a no-wake zone and take all the paint off the props......

you know that's the part of grounding i hate the most id rather break a ear off a prop then chase the cooling system, do you have a way to reverse flush engine ?

Boat looks great, Scott. I'm north of you about an hour and half so I know all about the "shallows". Gets even skinnier up here.

Nothing better than a splash, soft or not. Kudos!
