my guess, I have about 4200 hours in the boat so far..... not as productive working a few hours here, a few hours there, etc.... as it would be in a constant 10 hour + per day.

Thats the other problem. Glassing takes time.

I envy your patience. At one point I want to use it and then just make it as good as it needs to be and be done with it. There are others that can spend a lifetime working on something and it doesn't matter when its done. Not saying you will be one of them.

I used to build hot-rods, part of me want to hammer and dolly the work flat to minimize the amount of fairing.

Buddy of mine owns an electronic company and used his label laser to make me a center emblem for the steering wheel

pulling the staples out of the cabin upholstery.

who says the 80's were not the hey day for boat building.......

according to the tags, my upholstery was for hulls 110, 112, 113, 114, 115, 116, 120 and there were a few pieces from other lines......

my guess as fast as the upholstry shop could toss pieces on the pile, the production line was taking them.

the seat buckets were inspected by RJ on 11/4/1987

first round, small cushions...... working late one evening, so I worked in the driveway.

Awesome looking interior work on the boat. Your work has given me some ideas on interior mods for next year (or maybe the year after)

In all the stuff that I have taken apart on my boat, everything had the HIN number reference marked on it and they all matched  . . . which tells me that Formula does some pretty good production batch control. . . . Or at least they did when my boat was built. I think my boat was only about 4 months into the 12 year production run, so maybe they controlled things pretty well back then :noidea:

I too have found myself balancing boat work with home improvement in order to ensure domestic tranquility.

I tried to use the dining room table....... I started moving the decorations and was promptly told..... no.

Its all I could do to use the living room floor....

In addition to the dining room table, I got to use the dining room floor in the summer house . . . for the headliner a few years ago :)

this weekends work......

basically, I sweated alot.....

the velcro extreme hook and loop I ordered to hold the ceiling panels failed.....it wouldnt hold to the fiberglass.

the PSA they use literally sucks...... they claim 1# per square inch for direct tensile load. however a 4# panel with 60 square inches of tape let loose

not as good as the 3M hook and loop tape used in nearly all yachts to hold ceiling panels in place.

so, I have snap studs in place and have some dura-snap buttons being made...... the cost is almost the cost of the dura-snap press. phuck.

the progress from last night and tonight...... finished some of the cabin upholstery.

redesigned how the cushions are retained. the factory used big fugly blocks of UHMW and teak. and the retention was iffy at best.

going to secure the cushions with spring-loaded plungers.....they will be hidden, so simply grab the cushion, pull the chord and it will come loose
