yea, i left a cutout above the door for one of these, i suppose i could rig it to be thermostatically controled.....its a sealed motor so it might not blow up from the paint lol

That'll work! Just give it a vent to draw from the other side of the structure and you're in business. Might not be as warm, but mold and mildew aren't fun to deal with.

I like the carpet idea over the vapor retarder. If you can get good seal at the floor level with the vapor retarder (notice I use the word "retarder".....you can say "barrier"....attorneys!) your humidity level will drop off and stabilize (also should become manageable with a de-humidifier). The dark carpet is a good idea to pick up heat gain, but be careful with what how much you pick up! lol! You may still need some dehumidification, but the dirt is where the water is coming from. How about putting a clear piece of plastic on the ground tomorrow next to your "warehouse", seal up the edges (pile some dirt on it around the edges) and let us know what happens, $100 says it will be full of condensation by the end of the day.

a few updates:

Im kinda in a void now, just keep filleting myself into corners, then babysit the epoxy to cure. So im jumping around where i can, and doing some side projects.

more fillets

I finish wetting the deck bracing, letting it dry, then im hoping to get these all in today. That will allow me to do the final adjustments to the firewall, and secure it to the coffin box with some embedded screws.

The old engine mount pad had rotted from the underside, because it was not glassed underneath. So I added a layer of cloth underneath, so condensation wont prematurely compromise it.

In between glassing sessions, I salvaged some old kitchen cabinets to use in the shop so i can organize all the small parts Im removing from the boat....stuff is everywhere now and im kinda losing control of it all lol

I used Rusto sail blue this time, which i like alot better than their other blue

Re-purposing the cabinets is a great idea...I thought of doing that way too late after a kitchen remodel several years ago...DOH!:stupid::facepalm:

Great boat work and the storage cabinets look great too!
We're about to put up cabinets in out garage to store more things up and off the floor. There's a "Re-store" here that has cabinets, doors, etc from remodels that contractors bring in for people to re-purpose. Pretty neat concept!

Lookin good man, and hey.. I know what you mean about loosing control of things when there is so much boat stuff lying around... Had to get my car into my shop today so everything kinda got... well, 'moved' (aka; shoved) around to accommodate a VW..

Thanks guys....The epoxy seems to be taking alot longer to cure in the cool weather, so i didnt get any further yesterday. But i did enjoy filling up the shelves in the cabinets...out of sight and safely packed away ;)

Re-purpose---good word

Zool. I scanned through but didn't find if you had listed materials for your enclosure. It looks to be 1/2" pvc. Is that correct?
