can't beat that deal! I thought it was galvanized at first. is that 3/16 or 1/4" thick aluminum angle?
One side is 1/4” and the other is 3/16”... But I do have a question about aluminum alloy. The angle I used to tie my transom to my stringers is aluminum alloy. The very next day someone at work brought me 100% aluminum angle. Do I need to worry about aluminum alloy?

Getting the splashwell reinstalled was the hardest thing I have done yet. A combination of not clamping the transom when glueing together and all the epoxy and fiberglass cloth I used in this area made getting the splashwell and trim back on very difficult.

Yes sir. The 1987 Johnson 110 had 120 compression on all cylinders. Starts right up every time. I had a mechanic look at it at time of purchase. I rebuilt the carbs, although they did not seem to need it. Great motor. Maybe a Honda 150 one day.

So... the fuel cell issue.
This was my crack at replacing the rotted wood and pour in foam method. Fabricated these platforms from a construction ahead road sign.

Definitely a night and day difference. If you have room, suggest some kind of rubber cushioning to keep the tank from rubbing a hole where it contacts the aluminum you are adding.

I have a couple of old rubber blankets from work I’m going to put down. Free rubber, free aluminum, about $2.00 in rivets. 👍

Does anyone have pictures on how the cuddly cabin comes out. Or the first piece that goes in. Is it the wood or the aluminum structure?

Im late to this party, but just in time for the best part - a splash!! Haha. Nice work. Wish I had access to free aluminum during my build.

Haha not a lot going on. Wish I could do a full rebuild. Just trying to stop all the corrosion and get it on the water to catch some fish.

When you get it down to the bare hull, patch holes, replace the transom - thats basically the start of the full rebuild. Once your decks are solid and back in, the rest can be rebuilt as your money and time see fit. But you are setting the stage for a solid boat for many years. I still have work to do on mine, but she got back on the water in less than a year.
