Ha well if only I could have just used that instead. At $95 per kit, those are some expensive paper weights

If you were close. I got red carpet I just hung from the ceiling and interior vynal.

But if you do what I do. Nothing will go to waste. Now that i have it I will use it on other projects. I love the stuff.

Yea, not sure anyone is close to me out here in Denver.

But thats kind of my thought on all these materials, I have bought a lot, but I now know how to use them, and will probably use them to fix/make other things, so nothing goes to waste indeed!

Hey all! Sorry I haven't been very exciting recently. Lots going on in real life. But I have gotten a few things done.

I took off the rest of the mountig pieces of the tower. They were bolted directly to the cap. And I want to put some plywood bracing behind them for strength. I wouldn't trust putting a rope on it the way it was. So I've got those out and the underside of the cap ground down.

I also cleaned up my couple bubbles and loose strands on my floor and walls. Then got my second layer of CSM and Cloth making my connection between the hull walls and floor rock solid. Boom bam.

nothing too exciting but wanted to give an update! Headed to a wedding this weekend so no more progress until maybe Monday night or Tuesday.

I have been trying to get the main stuff done, so that I can work on chipping away at the little aesthetic stuff. but the Admiral is already talking about building a trailer camper for this winter's ski season.. so it will be interesting if I can get the boat done before that becomes a top priority for me.

Well I've been looking around as we get slowly closer and closer to getting the pretty stuff back into the boat for flooring options.

I still really like the look of the SeaDek or GatorStep. So, as always, looking further into the project, I ended up seeing this flooring which was on clearance. for $56 per 35"x94" sheet, that is much cheaper than anything I had been looking at.

I think, based on my layouts I did for the flooring, that I will need 4 of these sheets. So on order they go!

That's going to look great. Check out this thread.

Thanks Tim! I'll have to check that out tomorrow. I think its gonna look sharp. Just need to make sure that it's all symmetrical.

I wish the custom stuff wasnt so expensive. It would be nice to have the edges and decals... but I'm sure as hell not paying to have someone else do it.

That looks really nice - will be interesting how it holds up.

That's definitely a worry, that it wont hold up. But a friend of mine did his boat with a similar type of flooring and his still looks great over a year later.

my other thought is whether or not I should do a secondary adhesive to keep the floor down. Hopefully I can get some sort of insight from the thread that Tim posted

If you go through SeaDek's DIY videos they go over how to cut and route the edges. May work with the item you purchased as well.

Timr71 that is an impressive project on the flooring! I was thinking of doing it in individual pads, rather than getting them all to line up perfectly, but I do like the clean look that the single sheet did. I will have to play around and see what the Admiral likes better.

Austin,

Here's one more thread that you can review. This one talks about how to router the edges. This is a good one too. Turned out really nice.

Well it was 30F tonight but decided I should try to get something done on the boat.

tedious scrape of all the silicone on the hull, left over from how the PO attached the cap to the hull. But needed to do it to reassemble. What do people recommend on using? Is anything necessary?

Next, I decided to cut the backer boards for reinforcing the tower mounts. Just simple little guys and I sanded the edges to fit better in the curve of the cap.
