Thanks!

I just ordered from them. Strange ordering system, but we got it done. I also have another 5 gallons of 105 resin in the mail.

Hopefully next week I'll be up and working on the boat again. I'm going to take some measurements and see if I can get the sucker into my carport where I live down south. My plan currently is to get some casters and put them on the trailer, remove the entire rear axles and trailer Jack, and hopefully get enough clearance to squeeze it in there. Yes I know it's a lot of work, but it's a one time deal and this boat won't be moving for a while.

I've also come up with a plan for my stringer/bulkhead cleats. I think what I will do is go ahead and cap everything with 2 layers of 17oz and then I'm going to get some coosa board and screw 1"*1" slabs along the top edges of the stringers and bulkheads. I'll go with 304 stainless screws and completely seal the screws in with some pb. That should be waterproof enough and it saves me the headache of trying to wrap glass over the top of the stringers AND around a cleat.

Mad Props

Not much to update on. I had a weekend to work on the boat and I got everything but the engine bay tabbed in. Everything has been going well with no major hickups this weekend. Next, I need to plan out the drainage, foam, and cap stuff.

Congrats on a great looking resto. Can't believe I stumbled on this thread. I'm at the same stage of this in the exact same boat. I started with something a lot less desirable than yours tho.

Thanks! Do you have a thread on yours? It might not be a bad idea to work together... Finding info on this boat is a dog. I'll be back up over the weekend and I plan on finishing up under the deck!

Not much to report from this past weekend of work. I finished tabbing everything in and did 2 layers of caps all around. Also got the outside of the transom cleaned up and skinned.

Next, I am going to be cleating all of the bulkheads and stringers with coosa board, adding in some drainage and ventilation, and I want to inspect everything under the deck. After that I'm ready to put the deck on!

There were a few storage compartments under the deck that were only covered with carpet before. Under the carpet was either wood from a stringer/bulkhead or the bare hull. I have to put something in these spots before putting the deck on to coat them. I was thinking about this stuff called tough coat. It's a rubberized non skid coating that I want to use for my deck as well. Any opinions on this stuff/better ideas?

Sorry for the dirty pictures. I finished off the weekend with some sanding/grinding.

This weekend was finally a weekend where I "felt" progress. I started the weekend by bubble filling/grinding/sanding everything in the boat to a final finish. Then I cleated everything with coosa board, 305 ss screws, and pb. I cleaned the entire hull and laid the tuffcoat under the deck. I am finally ready to put the deck on-a huge milestone.

The deck is cut! I'm currently laminating the deck and skinning the underside.

Not too much to comment on this week. I did get the deck attached.

Back for the weekend and working on the boat (also planning a new build haha).

Got a quick question. Since I'm using epoxy, do I have to wait until the resin cures before applying gelcoat? I got some totalboat unwaxed gelcoat that I'm putting on the transom after I fair it. (Using unwaxed because I'm putting sharkskin overtop of it.)

By cure, I mean fully cure, not just dry. Is the answer still yes?

Are you using gelcoat specifically made to be used w epoxy?

Not all epoxy and all gelcoat work well together.....
