Re: 1987 16 ss

Thanks barato
I am a little hesitant to post in the Starcraft side of the forum but this is were my boat belongs there is not alot going on in the Sylvan area. Will they kick me out of the Starcraft area if I have a Sylvan?
I also want to replace the foam under my floor as my live well leaked alot of water into it last year.

Thanks

Sylvan - Just call your boat a rare Starcraft prototype with Sylvan badging and no one will know. :D What you can do is start a resto thread in the Boat Resto, Building and Hull Repair. Much more activity than the Sylvan forum. Watch out though, some of those from the Grinding Camps might try to tell you inhaling Itch Dust is good. Maybe you should just stay here. LOL Welcome aboard. We love Tin Boats

Re: 1987 16 ss

WoW
All I can say is you Starcraft guys really know what you are doing!!!
I just bought a 1990 16' sylvan super sportster last year with a 85 hp yamaha just like yours I need to put in a new transom and there is not alot of info on Sylvan.
My boat seems to be a copy of the Starcraft SS and the info here has been great!!

Hey 16, welcome, and thanks a bunch. I'm pretty sure the guys will call your Sylvan a first cousin and that's family lol.

How long until you finish painting your boat? I think you are doing an incredible job so far and can not wait to see the new paint. That boat is going to be brand new!or better than new!!
My boat does 38 mph GPS also with 17 pitch prop.

Thanks again, I'm hoping to get paint on tomorrow, work gets in the way. I'm pretty sure that is the same prop that is on this one and
it tops out at 37 or 38 just like yours.

Jason time = just plain silly:facepalm:

That ski locker looks fantastic and notching the noodles is a great idea to get just a lil extra flotation in there.

Awesome work as usual Glen! You are really dialing in this whole SS rebuild process buddy:)

Thanks Jason, I was sitting there trying to figure out how to get the most in I could and that was the answer.
Made some real progress today, as the picture will show.

WoW. It looks awesome Glen. I'm sure you and the owner know Black will be hot as h3ll in the sun. Even my red glass boat was too hot on a blazing day. Not to mention it will be a sun-magnet and you should put a 20 Gal tank for the sunscreen under the deck. lol I used to do roofing, and black is my enemy when its warm/hot, and its amazing how much hotter a black roof is compared to even brown.

Again, I'm sure your both well aware and the decision is made, yet I'd bet a pretty penny he'll change color someday soon. I could be wrong (it happened once  and it looks gorgeous. I'd name her "Bling-Craft" or just "Bling-Bling" hehe. Maybe "SPF 160", or "Coppertone"

Where do you get all your noodles from BTW? Great job getting all those in there, and I can't think of anything better then Noodles for the task.

Whoa - the wait for seeing the paint job was well worth it, DII. Nice combo with the black topsides and stripe against the AL. How many more SS's are coming down the production line? Nice work. :D

Holy cow! That is the sharpest combination on a Starcraft I have ever seen. It kind of reminds me of a Peterbilt 379 with all the shiny black and polished aluminum. Lookin large!

I like it dozer. Are ya gonna load her up with lots of shiney acc. ? That would look real sharp. What did you decide for the interior color?

Thanks Paul, We discussed the black quite a bit, and thought there is not a lot that a person is actually in contact with, between the rub rail on the outside and the angle trim on the inside of the gunwales, plus there will be a piece of oak across the top front of the splashwell.

Thanks Guys, TT the floor and inside of the gunwales will be the same vinyl as the ski locker, seats are light gray and charcaol, with a light coloers vinyl for the dash tops, consul fronts and side panels.
