Thanks guys, I am pretty pleased myself...even gave myself a pat on the back! I am confused about one thing, every measurement tells me the console is perfectly centered on the cap...except my seat sizes are 18.5" drivers, and 17.5" passenger.....every other point I can measure, it is absolutely perfectly centered...so I am confused by this....Looking at the pictures I took from the back and front, you can see it is centered as well...it will be something I will ponder for a while I guess, but she will stay where she is since it has to be centered on the hull, and not the seats

I suspect it has to do with the flair/step in the gunnel dimensions on either side, and the original fab. The gunnel is much narrower at the drivers seat where the control box would be mounted, then the other side. In photo #1 in post #681, the port side gunnel looks to be slightly wider across the top at the seat back then the starboard gunnel. The original fab work may not have been as accurate as you are now, since it all fit together & 'looked' correct. A little more flair/taper/flex in or out from the seat bottom up the interior side of the gunnel wouldn't have been significant or noticeable when it was fabbed up originally and came out of the mold & was installed on the hull. Until you installed the center console.

Just makes it more custom & 1 of 1!:D

good eye, sometimes it takes someone else' view on things to see what you should have already seen lol...I knew it was centered so couldn't move it, because it has to ride over the tank, and honestly did not think anyone would be able to tell that 1 seat was slightly small...it was just my OCD venting itself so I could sleep tonight lol

Nice work man. That console looks like it was meant to be there.

Got to work on the seat cushions some today

Ended up using this knife, instead of the electric version...yes, I am a cheapskate

IMG_3865.jpg

front loungers needed a pretty long angle so that the base cushion will open, its not the prettiest cut, but will work

IMG_3863.jpg

IMG_3864.jpg

The driver seat, I made wrap around the rear casting deck, and it will integrate into the console's armrest, the base cushion wasnt hard to cut, just left a 2" deep X 6" tall lip to wrap over the front

IMG_3859.jpg

IMG_3860.jpg

The back wrap was a little bit trickier though, and the support wood runs up inside it so that is supported all the way to the top of foam

IMG_3861.jpg

So now it is time to order some vinyl and get to sewing over the winter...I am pleased with how it is going to look

I also found my 1" I was looking for....the driver side gunwale at the seats is 6" across and the passenger side is 7" so that explains why my passenger seat is 1" narrower then my driver side...who woulda thunk it..I just knew I was dead center so totally baffled me lol

Aye, the 'ole carpenter's eye still works! :D Another iBoats mystery solved! Jenkies, Shaggy, Scooby & I all need a scooby snack..... Said it before, & will say it again: "Brownies are good."

Seat foam looks GREAT! What kind of a vinyl layout/pattern/insert are you thinking of?

Thanks Wood, that seems like a good place..I will need to email them because I don't want to search through 1800 colors to find what I need lol. I still prefer to be able to buy things hands on!

I've only had one issue on color matching and they Bent Over backwards to make it right. They absorbed all the costs of shipping etc and finally found the vinyl color that I wanted. It was almost a perfect match for my boat color.

Think I found it, will order it on Friday!, Calculating how much I need is what is throwing me for a loop, so I plan to get 2.5 yards of green and 5 yards of the tan, Since I have an abundance of time til weather warms up, I will make my own piping. Also cant find the vinyl needles, will keep looking for those..my mother-in-law said to just used denim needles if I cant find vinyl since they are harder to find

thanks fmjmax...I have been waiting patiently for someone to tell me that! Wood, you should look into consolidating those links, great stuff, now I have no more excuses...time to get sewing.....I had never envisioned myself sitting in a room full of men....talking about sewing...go figure...I have always liked to sew, just don't talk to my man friends about it, even if they unknowingly have one of my projects...like this mustang Christmas stocking for a friend of mine that likes mustangs lol

WOW, just noticed the thread is at 700 posts, and to think when I started this I could not get anyone interested it seemed! thanks everyone who follows my restore and offers a lot of much needed advice, I know without you, I would not be as far along as I am. I also hope this thread has been of some help to somebody, even if it just demonstrates how NOT to do things lol
