Re: 1979 Starcraft 18 v5 Restoration re model

An SC vacuum is opening in the upper mid-west....

Not yet done w/ the Sylvan, on a short deadline that's rapidly approaching, AND a new project grab across the board

Have you been sipping on coffee laced w/ Jas' special blend of 5200. No one can saw you're sitting around, letting the moss grow under your feet. Sleep much?

New project LOOKS great, really GREAT looking motor...

Nice looking V5, budski. The seats look to be in good shape. How is the floor/transom?

I insinuated that Dozer and his tin hoarding was causing the earthquakes in E. Canada. I'm attributing the Alaska volcanic eruptions to you. :) I hope InMotion doesn't start cross-border tin runs.

Thanks all, yes Glen it is a clone to yours, actually the boat is in great shape, must have been stored indoors most of it's life, can't believe how good the floor and trasum is, going to replace the interior including floor, starting when sylvan is finished.

IMG_5671.jpgIMG_5672.jpg Kind of in a dilemma here, which one to I like the look of the Merc, but I also like the extra horsepower of the Suzuki, both 2001's, would like a few opinions here, what do you think.

Is the Suzuki physically smaller & less weight? W/ more hp on tap in a smaller package, hands down, my preference....

If you like the black, detail the Suzuki black & get new decals........

Thanks jb, thanks pc, actually the suzuki is about 40 pounds heavier at 384 pounds, so far I guess the suzuki wins, actually I've always been an OMC man so don't know much about either of these two.

Hi Glen, I took merc off the blue v5 and was debating which to put on my keeper. I think I'm going to keep the suzuki.

Shore lander trailer, going to rebuild, lower by 5 inches, mounted axle above springs, add new fenders, and repaint, want it to look something like the last pic, going to keep this trailer for my keeper V5. IMG_5691.jpgIMG_5695.jpgIMG_5696.jpgIMG_5367.jpgIMG_5371.jpg

The trailer is looking great.. That was alot of effort you put into preping the trailer..

What brand of primer and paint did you use??

Re: 1979 Starcraft 18 v5 Restoration re model

I used Valspar anti rust primer, Rustoleum professional, thinned out with acetone about 20 percent, and valspar hardner about 5 percent, and an hlvp spray gun, primer was kind of thick next time I'll thin it out more.
