Re: 1979 Starcraft 18 v5 Restoration re model

I had an Eagle GPS combo that died under warranty. Navico (parent co.) replaced it with a comparable Lowrance combo because Eagle has been killed off . The Eagle had a thick instruction book that covered everything. Lowrance unit had about a 12 pager that covered installation and some very basic operations. Of course nothing is the same between the two. I had to do a lot of searching on the Lowrance site before I got comfortable. The lack of instructions seem to be a common fault for Lowrance but they do make good products. It should work great once you figure it out. Or like I said, send it to me. :D

Nice Sonar unit, Bud. I looked at one of those before I bought the Humminbird, the reviews I read were not thet good.

Lowrance is a good sonar/gps system, used to be the best until they lost the lake master chips. I plan on going with the humminbird that is owned by minn kota, seems they bought the lake master chips.

That's the stuff John, that version is the one for the public they make another for contractors which is what acklands carries, but a $21 a gallon I'd be all over that. While your down in the US pick up some Valspar Harderner Valspar 4625 Enamel Hardener - 8 oz. : Amazon.com : Automotive The stuff make the paint tougher, shinier, and dry faster. You just have to make sure you have good ventilation and wear a respirator.
