Progress is always good.

Pictures also help us that have little imagination.... ;) lol

Everyone loves pics myself included. I do alot of googling set on images to get ideas. However nothing has changed since my pics of the floor. Today a few holes will get added. Some creative ways to seal off that bildge area to keep foam out of it. And I'm gonna get the interiors sides hopefully made up which I wi5get pictured of. So there should be more later. I'm gonna try to get the floor and sides sealed tonight and possibly in permanently tomorrow. There will be pics of the progress. I am trying hard to get to the point of foaming it next weekend.
I also need to pick up a peice of foam board today. I am gonna use it on the sides behind the bottom part of the interior walls.

Rough fitment done. On the sides. Everything will get sealed in the morning and there might even be some pics of final install of the floor and sides. I was going to cut an oval opening for small storage but that area is so shallow it's worthless I am gonna use it to run my wiring on the one side and fuel line on the other make it nice and easy and well hidden since I will have plenty of storage elsewhere. I'll have under the front seats under the splash well and possibly under the seats. I still have no idea what I am doing there. But damn seats are expensive.
I love metal work. I'm not a huge fan of wood work. Also not shown in the pics is the final fitment yet or the beveled edges. I have been going for 13 hours. I'm exhausted some updated pics will be posted tomorrow

I believe the shelf is standard on the sides. I also added an oval below the shelf for extra storage. I figured out afterwards how useless it is. Guess that is why it was filled foam from factory.

That's my thoughts. The bottom part I am filling with foam board. I think I am gonna fill the top part too. To me it's just not useful. I am using quarter inch oak and in a few places birch I am putting it over everything like a veneer to make the inside of the boat look kinda like a wooden boat. I know it's not factory correct but I love the look and feel of wood. I was going to use fake teak vinyl flooring on everything but I have decided to keep it all sealed natural wood. However I am going to put the vinyl flooring on the floor still so it's comfortable to walk on and not slippery and no splinters.
And because everyone likes pics. Here is the floor all sealed up with a tan cedar tinted sealer. I am not sure if I like it yet and it'll be covered with the vinyl so I can still change the color.
I can also always add the oval and make it a cubby style storage again if I decide I do want it but right now I feel like it would be just for looks and I don't think it's worth it at this point. But my mind is subject to change.
What say y'all do you think that hole there for almost useless storage is worth it since it will only be for looks

Taping the pipe I am using to keep the fo out and leave a drain path. Don't know if it's gonna work but this is my attempt at it. More pics to come after I get the floor in and the sides installed

Don't know if I posted the pic of the splash well drain holes with the flares factory style aluminum tubes so here they are.
Got the floor and the sides in. Put styrofoam behind the sides and taped the seams and sides to keep the foam where I want it but give a pressure relief if it's needed.

I'm so excited it's starting to feel like a boat again.
Next weekend it's getting foamed and I'll put the front seats in then put together a plan for the consoles we are gonna build our own. Just gotta decide how to do it. It will be in a fashion to continue to use the factory windsheild.

I like the idea of wood look, just not sure on it as a floor. I saw you mention vinyl, so guessing going to do something with texture to prevent slipping when wet.

Correct I have a faux teak padded vinyl flooring to put over the floor. The current floor is 3\4 yellow pine and is hideous. But I have always had the plan for vinyl. The plan wood is kinda rough and would tear everyone's feet up but mine cause I hate shoes and only wear them when I have too. So it'll be soft and non skid. Everything else will be oak stained the same color as the sides. Which I think turned out great especially since the flooring is that same exact color.

When my flooring comes due I'm going aluminum so my kids will never have to. Add snap in astro turf. Prob do the latter prior to doing the new floor one I have only has one very small soft spot and I store in the barn.

I looked into doing aluminum. For 5200 series marine rated aluminum it would have cost me several grand.
The wood floor was very easy it took about 2 hours to make and fit completely from scratch. If my old one could have been used as a template it would have taken alot less.

Not sure if 'marine rated' in a big concern to me.

5200 series is marine rated not just saltwater though fresh too. It's corrosion resistant. It's what your boat is made out of.
I feel you on throwing money away I'm a hand 5 grand in to this build with a few more to go. All the oak I am using is blowing my budget the. I added permanent gas tank new seats and pedestals. All new hardware. Redoing all the wiring etc etc

I come fro6the jeep world. They are money pits too. I'm almost that far in on a resto-mod of a 93 yj wrangler. The boat was supposed to be my cheap hobby.
Obviously my decision making skills are questionable

Yeah quite literally. I'm really getting the itch to get mine done. Cold be damned I wanna go fishing. I already realized I made one mistake and forgot to run some conduit so I gotta take a section of floor back up

Got the foam in just about all of it. I need 2 quarts to finish the back which will be here Monday. Got started on the painting. Doesn't look like much yet but it's slowly coming together. Next weekend I'm gonna try to get the consoles built and the weekend after the outside will get painted. Once the consoles are built I'll start on the wiring and the fuel system as well

Looks good. What kind of prep and paint did you use?

I used total boat wet edge topside for the red. I sanded it down to the factory paint then painted over that. It's what the instructions said.
For the paint on the outside prep will be the same but it's total boat aluminum boat paint. It's fine to use on the bottom though I am only using it on the sides. The bottom I used steel 2000 bottom paint which is the same thing as gator glide but I could actually get it without jumping through hoops
