Very nice Glen, I'll have to give that glue a try next boat.

Excellent looking vinyl work. Hmph, another great product we won't be using south of the border :cold: :blue:

Water based contact cement?? I bet the fumes aren't real bad w/ that..... Or at least no where near as bad the Weldwood DJ used on his SS that had STRONG fumes.

Thanks Guys, and yes no fumes at all, a great added bonus.

I just got finished putting the carpet on the rear side of the gunwales inside the shelves. I used the Jackson 8585 glue Budski uses and it works awesome but as he said the fumes are wicked.:very_drunk:

Great detail there Glen. You certainly made that look easy as can be... always a bit of a challenge when doing the floor.... ya wanna get it right the first time as there really is no easy/cheap way of undoing it! Nice job!

Nice vinyl work there! Not an easy task especially by oneself. I like the use of the poly.

This is the point in the rebuild I have been waiting for, vinyl and carpeting is done, now she can really start to go back together.

I can't even tell you trimmed those brackets back, the interior trim looks 'correct':

Might notice a tight fit for skis & such, but I think it looks great ^^

Thanks jb, I'm thinking it's all going to work out well. Now I can put the gunwale tops and the bow aluminum back on. Then finish the upholstery.

Looks awesome! I'm liking how it is going.... looks so much better now that you have the floor and carpet in place!

Re: 1976 Holiday 18 Mercruiser 120

I had to haul a couple 60kv Gensets up to the city for repair this morning and stopped at Canadian Tire to pick up a box of SS staples for upholstery. Just had to walk through Sporting Goods and low and behold they had a clearance on a bunch of real good stuff including this.

$299. is Ebay and Amason, U.S. $144. cdn was a steal.
