Looks great Glen!!! Prolly used the wrong type of flour! :) Really interesting though.... if you can, try it on the sides and let us know if the thick mix works... as you know, it work brilliantly on mine.... but I layered it on as thick as corn chowder!

Man, that is winter right there for ya!!!! I have a feeling that is what is coming our way in the next few days. Time to bundle up for sure!

Hey Glen your project is coming along really nice, to bad about Jim's recipe, but as you said to many coats and water scale in between coats, looks like she should be flipped over by the weekend, by he way we have about as much snow as you do out here.

Hey, looks nice and warm in the Starcraft Hanger!

As always, terribly jealous of that awesome space you have to work there buddy.

I'm thinking IM's stripping mix is supplemented by the protein shake mixing jar, giving it extra strength.

Nice work DII. Stay warm and kepp that cold white stuff close to you for a little while longer.

Re: 1976 Holiday 18 Mercruiser 120

After three gallons of Aircraft stripper and one of Safe Strip I'm just about finished, just a little 1 foot section at the bow left to strip. I will post up some pictures this afternoon after work. I started the polishing process on the port side, but found I have to wait for a coarse polishing pad to arrive to polish out the sanding marks I left from removing all the nicks and scratches.

No more stripping in the SC hanger :cold: :watermelon:

Good to hear you're about ready to start the polishing.

Sweet Glen.... nice to see that you are beyond the "guck" phase and moving into the "bright and shinny" phase!!!

Hope the weather is getting a bit warmer for you... about to get rather frigid here for the week.

Re: 1976 Holiday 18 Mercruiser 120

Spent the better part of yesterday polishing the starboard side, using progressively finer pads. This first pic is after 3 stages.

The next one is a look at the line between the third and fourth passes, you can see the fuzziness has gone out of the reflection.

This is a shot of the side of the line that is complete, I may go over once more with an ultra fine pad once I get it all to this point. I am waiting for a short video to load I will then post it.

Carp, is it really cold much earlier up your way this year too? Seems it here, esp the last week........ :smow:

Nice to have the hanger to work in, as long as you don't have to heat that cavernous space.......

The start of polishing looks really good, nice work.

Thanks Jason, it's not real hard to do just time consuming and dirty as #%@#

Thanks jb , actually the cold came latter this year than the last couple, and didn't give us a gradual drop to let us get conditioned.
I keep the hanger about 12c 53f so it is not too bad and I don't pay for propane anyhow. The cool temp in the hangers motivates a guy to work harder. I will crank the heat up when it comes time to paint.
