You needed the twisted or braided wire wheels.

Yah, I had gone through one of twisted already and didn't have another on hand. So, I just used the plane jane straight one that I had in the tool box and it lasted all of about 8 minutes before it was destroyed (that's the photo). Then I went out and bought another twisted.

Cheers Man!

CHEATED?????? My man, where I come from we call that a wise investment!
Lets see, 3-5 more wire wheels, what 8 hours? And you wouldn't do as good a job (no insult intended). Heck fire Jas you came out ahead:D
and you saved some clothing too

TII thanks for the laugh. (Hic)

Yah, there was absolutely no way that I could have done as good a job. Did ya see how clean that came out! I am nearly certain it would have taken me two full days, maybe even three to get it ready to paint. Yup, I cheated. Yup, I am feeling good about it.

Cheers!

I'm a huge fan of those Minn Kotas that mount on the outdrive. Never used one but I like how you won't even be able to see the hardware at all.

I'm not sure how well they would troll in the Great Lakes, maybe a gas-powered kicker(10-15hp) would be better as far as power goes(in case you need it to limp back to port in some weather).

Lots cheaper to link a kicker to the big motor with an EZ-steer rod than that setup that turns the kicker remotely(even cheaper to use the I/O outdrive as a rudder, works well for me).:)

Yes...you should jump on both of them, & send them here for unbiased testing ;)

Seriously though, looks interesting

Now there is a Starcraft bro who is looking out for me! Cheers man!

Yah, I am really digging that Minn Kota engine mount (well the concept anyway).

I totally agree with ya on the kicker:)

Well, it's pouring outside and I am itching to put that trailer back together!!!! On my new paint job too! Grumble, grumble, grumble. Hopefully it had enough time to cure.

I carefully considered the consequences of going outside and figured I might get wet. So, I threw caution to the wind and went at it.

Look what happened!

A guy might confuse this with forward progress, eh!

I am pumped!

Thanks dude!! Yah, you'd never know she was built in 1975 (year older than the Islander).

I still have all the bunks/brackets, winch stand, safety chains, lights and the icing on the cake...

All that will be super fun compared to all the wire wheeling though:D

Rock on Kev!

Jasoutside's trailer resto, inc. You might have found a sideline business there.

Fantastic job.
