If that was so, you wouldn't have added the disclaimer after telling him he didn't have the rocks to go through with it! LOL

Let's see here, do I really need a big cabin boat and a giant cabin boat?

Ah, well, nope, not really.

Will be interesting to see the new direction (& speed) the Islander resto takes.... I see a big push for a pre-hard water late fall S....

just caught the "swapped" reference...

Not sure I would have supported this endeavor had I known my favorite boat was part of the trade... :(

Oh well, he can rebuild another 16 footer in his sleep (oh, I forgot he doesn't sleep)

Okay, so I'm interested to know what's going to happen with this 22 footer? You still going to finish and use her right? I'm guessing you'll have this one going for the next summer (or eight knowing the rate you take to rebuild a boat) while you restore the big mama? Good luck with it. Looks awesome.

By the way, wife of the year award goes to Jen :D

Hey thanks for the heads up on the sig JB, should have that fixed now. Yah, I'm still going to do my best to the this Islander in the water before the dead of winter. Not so sure if I can pull it off now though. I'll be taking a bunch of steps backward first.

Yah, agreed. I'm not so sure I would have supported myself had I actually talked it through out loud.

Ah well, I do have a plan and I think it's a good one:thumb:

So everybody was pretty disappointed about the Sea Nymph. Me too. They could see the fishing potential in the 261 but had a hard time getting ahold of the tube/ski/fun piece. For the past week I have spent a fair amount of time, with strong black coffee, thinking about this Islander. Just in case I actually scored that big one.

I probably thought through a dozen different options and scenarios and one option seemed to keep working it's way to the top of the list.

Let me draw a couple of lines here to show you what I'm thinking...

I'm already nearly done with tearing out all the cabin stuff and started drawing lines on that bow cap:eyebrows:

loco! I like it!

rather than cutting the islander bow skin, maybe hang-on to it in case you change your mind down the road ...and do the hacking on a fresh sheet of aluminum?

Yup, 26ft cabin = off with the 22footer's top!

maybe use it with the top in place while you rebuild the 26ft one?

then off with it's top!!

Yup! I've been kinda nosing around in your thread looking at your rig (specifically your consoles). The 22' SS club is a very exclusive one! Will you guys let me in?:tickled_pink:

Yah guys, NEVER thought I'd go this route but it sure seems to make sense to me now!

Is she topless yet?

Nope, I'm actually on boat building time out right now. Gan you guess why?

So she gonna be a big row boat or a center console?

Yah, I did think about the CC route but that quickly faded. Dual console man:thumb:
