Addicting. Heading out to work on old tarp eyelets. Will save my new custom cover for when the boat is finished.

#5. It follows the windshield and porthole angles. As stated, it also gives a bit more room to reach over the side for fish, lines, etc.

The hull is deep enough to not worry about splash/spray much.

I know I'm late but my '76' S.S.-18 had painted stripes. The Starcraft logo was a sticker, as I recall.

If the hull paint has adhered this long-leave it. Just prime the bare areas with zinc chromate.

Looking good!

Hey, thanks for stopping by and weighing in fellas! In my minds eye I envisioned that I would be going with the 4th or 5th option for sure. I wasn't even going to bother with that mock up. Now I am really glad that I did as I am seriously leaning toward that 2nd or 3rd option instead. More chewing and we'll see. Looks like rain tomorrow, bummer.

I agree # 5 follows the lines very well, but I gotta go with #3. It just looks so darn good! Very nice work so far, I like the fact you think things through. Good luck, Dale

Thanks a bunch fshng!

I actually did just a little bit more mock up work yesterday with the inner gunwale and trim aluminum. I think I have come up with a pretty cool combination too. It's tough to describe and I didn't shoot any photos but I will say that it does involve some thievery, more to come on that eh!

Hey, it's supposed to be sunny and 70 later this week! Like it!

Wow nearly unanimous for that 5th option! I would not have called that.

I suppose it's a good thing that I don't give in to peer pressure though, eh!

I am sure that I won't be going with the 1st or the 4th setup there, so they are out! I am inclined to lose #5 too but man you guys must be seeing something that I'm not so much. I think I'll set up #2, #3 and #5 again, on a nice sunny day, and stare at all three for a good while before I decide.

Thanks guys, you rock!

By the way...

Hey Huron, you can just make out the tree fort there directly over the port side center. I'll post up a shot of it once I get the slide on.

Man, I am so outnumbered - I suppose I should just be happy this is more of a benevolent dictatorship than a majority rules sort of deal.:D

So...

I just swung the boat through the self serve car wash power washer and blasted off years of mold, fungus and dirt. My bride didn't even call it the ghetto boat when I pulled up the drive. She actually said it looked "100% better". I sure wouldn't go that far but it does look better!

When I was awashin er the hull was filling with water as it wasn't tilted up on the hitch. I was eyeballing underneath and didn't notice any water leaking out. Certainly an informal test but good news all the same.
