That looks pretty cool Jason, how tough is it? I was think about doing the same but was worried the paint would just flake off the glue.

That is what I was worried about as well Glen. I went ahead and cleaned all the glue off one side but still have the other side to go. I think that what Jason did looks good but I just done trust it on mine. When I last pressure washed the inside (last week) I was actually able to spray some of the glue off of the side that I have not removed it from yet. So it is going to be some more elbow grease and MEK to get it off. I don't think that Jason is going to have a proble with it though and it looks good as well.

Default texturing...Love it.

Yah, I figured I saved time on the front end by not having to scrape it all off and save time/$ on the back end by not working out a textured covering of some sort.

Yah, that glue was on there really well. Kinda, sorta why I went that route as I was asweatin trying to get it off. I thought shoot, let's just leave it and paint it:D

I picked at it a little since it's been painted - only time will tell but I don't think it's going anywhere;)

Time for a short list...

1. I need to give my side panels a light sanding and install.

2. I need to do a bunch of prep work on my hull, topside (sand down the JB Welds and such), and trim. Lotta dust with that work and I don't really want to go further without getting that out of the way first.

After that...

My plan is to bounce back and forth between building/installing the cabin walls, seat boxes and the installation of the Merc.:):D

All that glare from side panels will either attract more fish or blind you! :D Jas, your kicking butt man. I agree with the color scheme. Contrast is what I look for. By the way u made me realise that I should of painted my bilge. Anyways, Rustoleum rules!! This is one splash to look for.

Now, if I could just get her to purr like that bolted up to the Islander:D

That's what is cool about this place Charlie - You swing by kick me in the butt, I'll head over and give you a boot. Keep that forward motion bro!

So when is the Splash????

Ooooohhhhhh man. I'll tell ya what Jay, you have been working your tail off on your rig and you'll surely beat me to the water buddy. I'm thinking late summer this Islander may float. Maybe:redface:

Yah GLen, I was pretty pumped that the Merc install made it to not so far off next jobs to do!:)

Jas, your kicking butt man.

I am trying brotha, just need to keep checking things off the list and eventually I should run out of things to check:D

---------------------------------------

OK, morning progress, not much...

I was able to get a final sanding on my side panels, so that is good.

It got pretty hot here in the middle of Michigan and unfortunately the duct tape that was holding my pink foam in place let go. All my flotation smooshed down and had to be reset. I used some PL to laminate em in place;) One step forward one step back, ah well.

Hey, couple things real quick....

I know we were kicking around the idea of tinting Rustoleum. I have never done it but this is the poster I see in the Rusto isle at Menards...

Good deal alert! $10 after rebate for this air stapler at the Nards (as my youngens call it)...

I know I already bought that manual stapler kit a while back, but for $10, couldn't pass it up:rolleyes: I still have a bunch of upholstery work to complete.

Just a heads up is all, later.

That's a nice staple gun.It has good adjustability so you don't drive the staples to deep.

Man I wish that we had a Menard's here. I have the same staple gun on the way and paid more for it than that but not much. And trying to find rusto here is starting to kind of tick me off. Good grab on that Jason.

Nice score Jason, I don't think we will see custom Rusto colors up here, they tend to push the Tremclad line in Canada.

Kelly have you tried Acklands/Grainger they are one industrial supplier that is both in the US and Canada, and carry Rusto Proffesional.

Striking out on the rusto colors around here too. Grainger, local HW store, Lowe's and Fastenol can only get the colors shown on the Rusto web site, 4 qt min per color. Sherwin Williams claims to have a compairable product and can mix different colors. When the dude asked what I was doing with it he said "it can't be done". I said " oh yea, Bondo and the rest of the iboat posse say I can"! LOL No Menards here either.

We don't have a Acklands/Grainger around here either, am going to have to check a HD or Lowe's and see. ACE does not carry the professional either and they said that their brand should not be used in the water. They even called their supplier to ask for me.

Oh, so not fair. I know we've teased you a little, but this is mean. Either toss those things in the cabin and post a couple pics of it, or not tease us with lil remarks like this!;);)

Looking forward to seeing them!
