I realize this thread is old but so am i and so is the boat. I havent done anything with the mariner but its still here and so am I hoping to get back to work on it before the snow flies.
As far as the mariner goes up to date is where i left off lol she has been patiently waiting for me to get back to work on her.The admiral and I bought an old sailboat last year and we have been way to busy learning to sail to work on the mariner.I have had a few people try to buy the old girl (the boat not the wife) but cant sell her. I think the admiral is almost done camping for the summer so hoping to have time to at least get the painting done so i can work on her this winter thanks for the replies guys .
Maybe but can you trade em for starcraft parts? Anyway got the camper home for the year sailboat is still in the water but hoping to get some work done on the mariner soon at least want to get paint on it before the weather gets cold again . I have to reread my own thread first to figure out where i was at first though . I think I was pretty much ready to flip and at least get the bottom painted so thats probably where i will start. more to come i hope
Got the boat off the trailer and flipped in the backyard. Still debating on what color to paint the bottom . Bottom paint is in pretty good shape so think i will just spray over it . I rebucked those few rivets that still leaked. Im trying to figure out how to post pics from my phone as computer is dead so heres a pic of my old sailboat if it works more later
It was a nice day out so took a break from workin on my four wheeler to spray some primer finally !!! I had picked up some new gravity feed guns way back and thanks to the recipe Woodonglass gave me back in 2011 the rusto sprayed great. I cant get photobucket to work right now but ill try posting pics later.
Made a little progress today started out this morning boat was all wet from dew so blew it of with the air compressor and wiped it down .I noticed there was some fine grit in the primer must be dust from the alley benind the the house i just hit it with a scotch bright and blew it off again most of it came off. Heres a pic of primer gray.
