Oh yeah I know all about lower back issues and bulging disks, mines the L1 S3 disk that decides to pop and say hi every now and then.

Looks great, CJ did I miss where you said what paint your using and type of spray gun? It sure looks good from where I'm at.

dang....yer making some pretty good progress, back issue or no. sorry to hear abt that, been a chronic problem of mine since i was in early 20s. looks great so far!

Thanks B2. Sorta like you working while sick as a dog.... just gotta keep on going.

Where's all your snow, CJ? The bow lid is lookin' good all shiny. Good rebuilt structure under it too.

Careful with the back! I know what you mean, I have to watch how I work and twist mine. A real PITA or slightly above.

Hey GA. Most of the snow melted thank goodness. I hear ya about the spine stuff... I started falling apart about 10 years ago.

Hey Watermann. That's about where mine is messed up now. I already had a fussion in my neck which took about a year to really heal from.

I'm using Rustoleum paint and primer but went with some auto paint for the blue. I just wanted the blue a little darker than the Royal Blue from Rustoleum. I just use the cheap sprayers from Harbor Freight. I used to have a very nice gun that my oldest son ruined a few years back. He was so hard on them I replaced it with the throw aways from HF. ($11.00 with coupon)

Thanks Glen

I had a little issue with the painters tape I bought at the local auto paint store. It was similiar to the blue tape on yellow. The adhesion was about like the blue, but didn't give me a clean line.

I'm out of that blue and won't be buying anymore. Oh well, it looks good from about 10 feet away. And, most importantly... it is just a fishing boat, right?

Paint looks pretty good to me. I had paint issues as well, and realized that I'd be wasting precious warm weather time trying to get it right. So, yeah, the fish totally don't mind!

If you end up hating it down the road you can do a lot of painting while it's on the trailer.

Blue over white, nice.

Frog tape seems to be the best I've used. The blue is okay for house paint but seems to leak with automotive or similar when I'm doing the work.

Just make the fish close their eyes when you reel 'em in. The paint line probably looks worse to you than it is. The blue really looks good.

Paint job is looking great! Always a fan of blues. You are making some rapid progress on this project. I wouldn't worry to much about minor flaws in the painting. There are a few in mine too but I am of the same opinion,, it is a fishing boat.

Wow would you look at that sun shining off all that fresh painted tin, one will never see a more beautiful sight!

I really like that shade of blue, very nice indeed. :thumb:

Thanks for stopping by and for the compliments. I really like the blue also.

The transom got cut out and glued yesterday. My son helped me move the cabin into the garage and I started prepping by removing enough silly cone to fill a gallon paint can.

I knew this boat was going to be more work than the SS's, but ... wow! I really want to be on the water this year for Stripper season.

Have a great week guys!

stripper season? no, dude, it looks great as it is, no need to start over from the beginning.

just saw them pix of the blue....awesome. get a tiny artist-size brush and some good masking tape and you can easily fix that minor edge bleed if it really bothers you.

i'm on the same page....need to post the sign in the shop reminding me that it's a FISHING boat, and a little tuna blood will hide all flaws.

LOL B2. I meant Striper season.... :) There is no way the stripper is coming back over here. The Admiral almost caught me the last time without protection. . . eye protection. :D

Hey CJ looks awesome, you might want to try some pin striping on that line between the white and blue that's what I did and it worked out quite well, just a thought.
