Great news! It runs,,sounds pretty good,, did not use the carb rebuild kit yet.. starter fluid did the trick ! Ran it several times getting up to temp,, idles great at 1000 wants to stall at 750... after the initial start and warm up,, no need for starter fluid...starts right up these last few days...
Bad news today,, after several run and start trials,, it bogged out and cranked hard.... pulled the plugs and ive got fresh water in the tops of 3 pistons..guess that is why we test and test before getting it on the water..
pulled the plugs and cranked the engine to puke out all the water.. turns nice no binding,, threw some oil down the cylanders,, cranked it through,, dropped the oil, drained the filter, will do a compression check.. but im sure its the head,, or maybee manifold riser issue...
Ordering up a gasket kit,, going to do the head gasket, and manifold gasket,, riser etc etc.. clean them all up,, do the thermostat while im in there and change out the water pump....as the saying goes,, break out another thousand...lol...or in this case only a hundred or so....anyone have a fav gasket kit ? Victor Reinz looks complete....
Got some plywood ripped for the forward v birth,,encapsulating it in resin.. keep me busy until the gaskets come in a week or so....ive got some video of it running,, will post it when i get into town with free wifi and higher speed,, cant upload vid from my slow connection at home.....
