It wasn't parka time this morning at 5:30am but it was a tad on the chilly side. Fishing turned out kinda bad. The lake is so low I couldn't get up to my favorite hole so I fished the nerd spots for a while just to see if they actually ever caught anything there.. noo. Came back in at 8:30am threw it in neutral and waited a 1/2 hour for the dock to clear. Put it back in gear and she died. Started, put it in gear and it died again. Put the troller out and came in. I was pretty freaked being a new engine and all but the trouble was found when I pulled it out of the water. 75' of ski rope wrapped around the prop and draggin off the back. I can't figure out how I didn't see it, I must have drifted over it. You couldn't imagine the relief.
Bonus post -- Yep the ole Mariner is now for sale on Craigslist in California, north bay area. My buddy got his back and we swapped over the weekend. He thanked me, once for the engine loan and a second time for teaching him to turn off an engine when the alarm goes off. He only needed a new head gasket and a thermostat.
