Thanks for the update. I started following your build and then it trickled off while you were trying to get the paint off. Glad to see you are still going forward.

I am going to have to throw in the towel on this restoration. I am changing jobs and will be moving. My precious Chieftain cant come. If I cant find anyone who will restore this I will have to sell it for scrap. PM me if interested...

Thats unfortunate but you have to decide whats best for you and yours.
Maybe someone reading this thread is interested? This thread could possibly just keep right on going.

Sorry to hear that Alpheus. I was looking forward to see you finish her up. You gotta do what you gotta do. Can you take the other boat or are you out of boating for a while? I hope someone can take over and finish for you. Good luck on the new job, buddy.

Sorry to hear about the move Alpheus :/ I'm sure one of the members of the Starmada will come through. Perhaps posting a notice on c-list, or tinboats.net would help too.

Good luck with the new job Alpheus. I've no doubt there'll be a boat shaped light at the end of your tunnel! :)

Well I got a phone call about the boat I called him back and left a message, and nothing. The boat is off to the scrap yard in the morning. Its a damn shame but its gotta go. I am officially out of the Starmada. Good luck to all you other on your projects. Even though I didnt get to finish it, I sure had allot of fun with this one...

Re: 1969 Starcraft Chieftain Restoration

I was looking for a starcraft...but that's a little bigger than what I was looking for. How much does that thing weigh including trailer and motor drive? I'm in Richmond. I haven't been following your whole thread since I've been reading so much on fiberglass projects.
What were you asking for it? It's probably a little out of my cheap budget. lol

My tow vehicle is a 2008 Wrangler Unlimited V6 it's good to 3500 lbs. I'm off today but it's getting late to discuss it. PM me with a price if you would and I'll let you know. I might be able to take tomorrow off or Wednesday to come down.

Re: 1969 Starcraft Chieftain Restoration

Just hate to see this go to a scrap yard. You've done a lot of work on it and it deserves to be restored to it's beauty again. If we could work something out, I'd have to look at selling my pontoon since I have no need for 2 big boats. I was originally looking for a family weekend boat to restore in the 16-18 ft range that would pull a skier and just cruise around lakes and a little fishing on the side. That Chieftain would have to be my river boat for catfishing, it's too big for the weekend family thing, although I'm sure with that Green Monster in it, it wouldn't have any problem pulling a skier or two.
