Re: 1969 Lonestar Medallion

Yesterday I got the 3/8 x 1 aluminum bolted on one side. I had to drill and tap 74 holes and broke one drillbit and three taps. It was a little tricky making the radius up towards the front but it pulled together nice.

My wife just called me and said the boat got blown off the trailer in the storm that just rolled through. I'm not sure how this happened since it was strapped down to the trailer. I guess Murphy just wants to hang out with me this year.

Re: 1969 Lonestar Medallion

I got home from work last night and sure enough the boat got flipped off the trailer and on its side. The winch strap was even still attatched. I couldn't find any damage on it and I got it flipped back over and put back on the trailer. We also had an 8 inch branch break off a tree and land right on the hood of my lawnmower crushing it. Hopefully insurance will cover this.

On a positive note I got the new (used) transmission in my truck and it seems to be working fine. :D

I will try to get some pics up tomorrow of the storm damage.

:eek:That must be a nice mower!

Yah, that's what insurance is for, you should have no trouble.

Drew, glad you (and the boat) are both okay... Sounds like it was a nasty storm...

That green and yellow paint they use must be expensive.

I was at work when the storm rolled through but the kids and wife were at home. They are all ok.

BN - this hasn't been a good weekend for a few of us. Wood/wife/Blue Flamingo, Trooper almost burning down his boat and now your LS and tractor. Murphy is on a roll. I hope that @%^@& goes away!

EDIT - The tin work looks nice

Here's one pic of the carnage I came home to the other night. The winch strap was even still attatched to the bow eye. It moved the whole trailer over about 4 feet.

It pushed in the flywheel cover pretty good and also crushed the battery. Insurance adjuster should be out in the next couple of days.

Well, like you said, being green and yellow, that should make for roughly $10K in damages:rolleyes:

That would sure be nice, but I won't hold my breath. You know how those insurance companies are.

I agree Wood. Atleast Murphy stayed away from my transmission replacement. I never want to do that again The only thing that really happened to the boat is it tweaked the starboard side rubrail channel but I think it can be caressed back into shape. It wasn't bolted on towards the front as I was still doing soe work up there.

Yeah, that Murphy guy is NOT welcome at my house any more either!!!! I'm glad it wasn't to bad for the boat but the LM looks like it's TOAST!!! Again, glad everyone is OK.

BN, sorry just getting caught back up on your thread. Glad to hear your family endured it well. Hope all goes well with the LM. Must have been one heck of wind blowing to move the trailer and flip her.

Hopefully you, WOG and Trooper have chased Murphy off for good and not over here either.

I took the mower in the other day to get an estimate. I'm supposed to hear something back today. I hope Murphy doesn't ever come back around, he has been around to much lately. At times I wonder if he ever leaves.
